Question about Pioneer DEH-P9600MP CD Player

1 Answer

(deh-p9650mp) what is "MIC IN"? cannot eject cd nor open face display

MIC IN is displayed on the detatched face when i try to eject and open/close face by using the eject and open button.
the warning sound comes on when i hit one of those two buttons. hence this is happening when the face display is is visiblev (not the detatched face)

the detatched face will only close if i was to detatched the face from the unit. obviously i will then detatched the face back on when the system is off. From here if i was to turn the ignition on. the unit turns on with the face closed. I can then eject the cd out and open//close the unit without actually turning on the unit (source button).

basically, when the unit is functioning with music i cannot eject nor open and the message thats shown on the detatched face is "MIC IN"
I also have an issue with the volumn. i cannt adjust the volumn via the knob/source when the face is open but the volumn is adjustable when its closed??

i dont know what has happen as this baby was working 100% fine for me yesterday.

Can this be the fact that the face us detatched from the unit from time to time? or can it be the fact that my battery is almost dead (i have a rooted battery that needs replacing)

PLEASE HELP !!!
I have tried resetting it via that tiny button.

How do I load the tape

I see your picture of a cassette player. Guess you are referring to that. (tapes also come in reel-to-reel, and 8-track). Just push the "EJECT" button (power may need to be applied to some units for the eject button to work). The tape slot will open. Insert tape with exposed tape on the "head" side of the opening, usually the heads are on the bottom of the slot.. You can't put it in any other way and have the door close. The "door" that opens has guides for you to slide the tape into. The side you want to listen to should face you. Either manually close the tape compartment or push the close button (depending on model). If the door doesn't close, you put it in upside down. Push play and enjoy.

I have a jvc am/fm cd player kds-30 it has no eject button anywhere and i can not figure out how to eject the cd

The eject button is just above the JVC logo on the display panel.
When you press eject and if it displays "NO EJECT", then it is locked. Press and hold CD and Power (ATT) for more than two seconds.

Head unit will not power up it was working fine and just stopped. Eject button still works?

If its a flip down, or a detatchable face, you can always try cleaning the terminals on the back of the face. If these are dirty, they can causebad connections.

CD-ROM not opening

The eject mechanism is driven by a seperate belt. You'r's is worn or broken, however, there is a small pinhole in the face of the player that you may stick a paperclip into and the tray will open.

Display not working

I have the same problem. There's a little ribbon cable behind the contacts for the faceplate. It gets folded as the face plate motors in and out and eventually breaks like mine did. I'm fixing it tonight and then I will disable the motorization. Followed by NEVER BUYING A PIONEER AGAIN. I reccomend you do the same.

No display

Did you install the unit with the correct wiring harness, or cut-and-splice the wires from the factory line to the stereo lines? This could be a problem.

Cant display time

Upper right-hand corner, there's a button next to the "eject" button. Pressing this button while the unit is on will cycle between displaying the clock and the track number & play time (CD) or clock & radio station.
When the unit is off, you can press the same button to completely shut off the display, which is sometimes nice if you don't want the blue ring around the volume knob glaring in your face.
