Model # 358.797180, 200 mph. At first I thought problem was carburetor being gummed up due to being improperly winterized by previous owner. Replaced carb with new, did not fix problem. Also replaced fuel filter. Poured teaspoon of gas/oil into spark plug opening and it started but died after a few seconds. This tells me I have spark and compression. I don't believe either fuel line has a crack. The primer bulb works and I can see the gas inside the bulb. When I prime it, however, I notice the main fuel line remains empty (i.e. full of air). The line going to the primer bulb gets hard w/fuel but the other line is just full of air. I'm unsure if I am not setting the fuel filter in the right location? Does it just sit inside the belly of the fuel tank? Somehow fuel is not reaching the cylinder. It seems like it is not priming correctly. What is supposed to happen when I squeeze the primer bulb - should the main fuel line gets filled with fuel as well? Thanks for your help!

The primer is just a small pump that is supposed to pull fuel through the carburetor from the tank supply line/fuel filter. The filter is supposed to be connected into the longer line at the rear of the tank. This lines goes to the carburetor uppermost port and the lower port is tied to the inlet side of the primer pump. Remove the tank side line from the pump during the pump test to make sure that you are not pulling fuel into the pump from the exit line. Try pumping fuel at this point--if nothing happens, swap the port connection at the pump and try to pump again--when correct, it will fill the tank supply line first, then the exit line from the carburetor that goes to the pump and finally fill the bulb. If you don't get fuel with either connection, then you have a leaking fuel line somewhere as you have already replaced the carburetor. Most saws use a rubber fuel line, not clear plastic. Hope some of this helps!

Attempting to start my mower after the winter, tries to turn over but acts like it isnt getting any fuel....any suggestions?

You have not mentioned the year, make, and model, but here are the suggestions.
Probably you have a gummed up carburetor. Gasoline can evaporate whilst sitting, and will leave a residue inside the carburetor that will prevent starting. You may need to remove the carburetor and/or float inside, and have it thoroughly cleaned.
You may also need to address the gasoline in the gas tank, as it can turn "stale" over the many months, and it too may be "spoiled".
Solutions are to 1) run the mower at the end of the mowing season until it runs out of gas, which should help prevent "gumming".
2) Add a chemical additive to prevent gumming and keep gas fresh during the winter.
God bless your efforts..

After winter service on my Honda Magna VF750. Still runs, but gas drip underneath tank. Possible gasket damage? What all needs done? Change oil and filter and what else?

You may have a loose fuel line after doing your winter service. Check that they are all snug. If the petcock had force applied to it, you may have damaged the petcock and will need a replacement.
Also check the bottom of the tank and the seams, ensure that the tank isn't rusting from the inside out. I had a V65 Sabre do that once - from previous owner improperly storing bike with only a tiny amount of gas in tank.

My saw starts but will not continu runing

Your adjustment are off or your carburetor has gum in it leaving fuel over the winter time or long periods of time. Always put and additive in your Fuel so it doesn't gum up. But check your adjustments on the carburetor that's most likely your problem !

I bought an Echo PB-250 on E-Bay recently. The decsriptions said that the previous owner did not prepare for winter storage properly, & only runs with the choke on.After receiving it I found that to be...

The carburetor is exhibiting symptoms of flooding. Many different things can cause it, from a bad vent in the gas cap on the machine to bad seats on the L and H mixture screws of the carburetor. I suggest you remove the carburetor and clean it, (use NO harsh chemicals) and have it rebuilt. If it sat over the winter with old fuel in it, the diaphragms inside it are probably ruined. There are NEW ones in a rebuild kit.

I have a coleman 2500 gas generator when I try to start it on choke after I prime it. It starts and runs for about 5 sec and then stops. I replaced the old gas with new gas any ideas?

sounds like the carburetor got gummed up with gas being left in it over the winter/not being used in a few months. You may have to take it apart and clean it up with carburetor cleaner, possible the needle and float may have to be replaced, good luck Tim

It sounds like a carburetor issue. The jets are probably gummed up from the old gas that was in it. Remove the carburetor and clean it out with a can of carb cleaner. Then reinstall.
