Your T.V.s Sleep Timer feature is a programmable automatic timer that will turn your TV off after a certain amount of time. Just reprogam it to the amount of time you want. You probably find that in the menu of your T.V.
Thanks!

How do i change sleep mode

Sleep Timer Mode

The Sleep Timer mode is an energy-saving feature that enables you to set a time for the monitor to
power on and off at the same time every day. This also extends the life of the backlight bulbs in the
monitor. The Sleep Timer has five settings:
? Set Current Time
? Set Sleep Time
? Set On Time
? Timer: On/Off
? Sleep Now

To set the timer:
1. Press the Menu button on the monitor front panel to display the OSD Menu.
2. Scroll down and highlight Management.
3. Press the OK button to select Management.
4. Scroll down and highlight and select Sleep Timer > Set Current Time.
NOTE: You must set the current local time before you reset the time for Sleep Time or On Time. Note that the time is displayed in a 24-hour clock format. For example, 1:15 p.m. is displayed as 13 hours 15 minutes. A power failure or loss of power to the monitor will cause the timer to reset to 00:00. If this occurs, you will need to reset the sleep timer mode.

5. Press the OK button once to enter the adjustment mode for hours.
6. Press the - (Minus) or + (Plus) button to adjust the hour.
7. Press the OK button again to enter the time for minutes.
8. Press the - (Minus) or + (Plus) button to adjust the minutes.
9. Press the OK button to lock in the time chosen.
10. After setting the current time, the highlight automatically skips to Set Sleep Time. Repeat steps 6 through 9 to set Sleep Time.
11. If you do not want to set Sleep Time, press the OK button twice, then select Save and Return to exit the menu.
12. After setting Sleep Time, the highlight automatically skips to Set On Time. Repeat steps 6 through 9 to set On Time.
13. Set the Timer mode to On to activate the Sleep Timer settings.
14. When you are finished, select Save and Return to exit the menu.

The fifth selection, Sleep Now, turns the monitor backlights off immediately and stays in sleep mode
until the next On Time activates or a monitor button is pressed.

Probable Causes:

(1) Sleep Timer has started (You should get a on-screen Notification in this case, before Auto Turn Off). Turn Off Sleep Timer to get rid of it.

(2) Something is wrong with your TV (Get it checked at Authorized Service Center if Warranty is active, if not, contact any Television Engineer or Electronics Engineer).

I cant activate the sleep timer

Possibly the remote button for the timer is stuck or the remote is broken. You could try to take the remote apart and clean whatever is blocking the contacts inside it so you can activate the timer again. Some remotes have srews holding them together and clips so it basically snaps together. You need a thin flat head to pry open the remote if possible.Open up a small crack and slid the driver along the opening till it pops open.If that is too hard or your afraid to break the remote just look into buying another one.

How do I set the sleep timer? We got the tv from a friend and it had no manuel.

Programming the Sleep Timer:

  1. Press and release the TV key.
  2. Press and hold the SLEEP key for three seconds. The illuminated component name turns on.
  3. Release the SLEEP key.
  4. Using the number keys, enter the desired time in minutes (from 1-99 minutes). To set the timer to an umber under 10 minutes, first press 0 and then the desired number (e.g.,05 for five minutes). The illuminated component name blinks with each key press.
  5. Once the second number is entered, the illuminated component name turns off.
Tip Any key press other than the number keys is ignored. If you don't enter the sleep time within 10 seconds after pressing the SLEEP key, you must start over at step 1. The illuminated component name blinks four times and then turns off, indicating your attempt to program the Sleep Timer has been unsuccessful.
  6. The Sleep Timer is now set.
  7. Leave remote aimed at the TV. Once the Sleep Timer is set, you can continue to use the remote without affecting the Sleep Timer. However, because the timing mechanism for the Sleep Timer is built into the remote itself, the remote must be in TV Mode and pointed at the TV to activate the Sleep Timer.
Note: If the ON·OFF key is pressed, the Sleep Timer is canceled.

I am trying to turn off a sleep timer that is built into a rca universal remote

When you press a sleep timer, it sometimes is all you can do to activate it,
but when you press the button again shortly after, the time on the sleep delay
will change, eventually to being off/cancelled. ?

How do I use the sleep timer? when I push the sleep timer button it gives me on time and off time to set. I dont know how to use this. Cant I just set sleep timer for 30 minutes to turn off? Thank you.

Hello
Before going to set the timer, you have to set the current time. Set it according to the manual with you. If the timer function work properly, there must be an uninerrupted power supply also. If the power goes off, the set time will also get resetted, and improper function will occur.
After setting the present time, set the "on" time and "Off" time. The TV will switch on at that time you set, and will switch off automatically after the end time. OK.

It keeps turning itself off! How do I keep it going 24/7?

Well that seems like a waste of energy.
Anyway that is your problem.
The Power/Sleep button has a dual function: Power ON/OFF and Sleep.
A short press will turn the timer on and you will see numbers like 90, 75, 60,...10, 01. pPressing again will cycle to the next sleep duration. If your radio has a short duration timer it will seem that it is turning itself off.

To activate a normal Power up, your first press should last longer (I cannot tell you how long, you will have to try it on your own.) You should not see the timer durations, just the frequency of the station its was last tuned to. In addition, no loudspeaker should be displayed at the lower right corner.
