  1. Remove the printer from any UPS supplies, additional power supplies, or power strips.
  2. Plug the printer into a wall outlet to check whether this resolves the problem.
  3. If the printer is already plugged in, try another power source in the building independent of the one being used.
  4. The line voltage and current source at the printer location might need to be inspected to make sure that it meets the printer's electrical specifications.
  5. Turn the printer off then on.WARNING: Be careful when removing or reseating the fuser. Temperatures can reach 400+ degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. If the message persists, turn the printer off for 30 minutes to allow it to cool, then reseat the fuser after checking the internal wiring connections on the right and left side, ensuring that these connections are properly seated.
  7. If the 50.1 or 50.2 error recurs after power-cycling the printer or when trying to print, try installing a known good fuser from another HP LaserJet 4100 series printer, if available.
  8. If the fuser is near or at the end of its estimated life expectancy (approximately 200,000 pages), then replace the fuser. After replacing the fuser, print a Configuration page, a Menu map (shows fuser settings), an Event log, a Supplies status page, and a Usage page, to reference the status of the new fuser and to ensure that the previous fuser settings are in place with the replacement fuser. 55.0 printer error

Error 55.A is an internal communication error. It typically indicates a communication error between the formatter and the DC controller. The most common cause of this error is normally related to the fuser.
Some steps to try:

1. Turn off and turn on the printer to clear the error message. If the error returns after doing this, then, check external printer connections.
a) Remove the formatter.
b) Reseat any memory DIMMs and EIO cards.
c) Reseat the formatter.

2. If the printer has a duplexer installed, remove it. Turn off and turn on the printer, and see if the error clears. If the error clears, then, the duplexer PCA may be defective. Replace the duplexer.
NOTE: With a worn fuser, the 55.A error usually manifests itself while duplexing, however in extreme cases, the error could appear without a duplexer.

3. Verify that there is no issue with the site power. If the printer is on a surge protector or a UPS, remove it, and plug the printer directly into a wall outlet. If the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, try it on another outlet, preferably one that is on a different circuit.

4. Print a PCL configuration page to verify the number of pages since last maintenance. If the printer is close to the 350,000-page service interval, then install a maintenance kit.

If the service interval is not near the 350,000-page interval, then, replace the fuser.

I had a problem in the printer saying that 50.2 fuser error that i can neither print, nor xerox & nor scan also. what can i do now?

When a 50.x fuser appear its because the fuser its worn, its probably overheating. I can suggest to take it out (in the back you will see 2 blue locks) for about half hour (turn the unit off before you are doing that) and put it back in. If the error persist you need a new fuser. Good luck

Fuser error on the hp 3700dn printer

You need to replace the fuser since it is most likely caused by a bad fuser. The 50.1 error indicates a low fuser temperature which can be caused by a fuser failure or a DC controller failure. The HP part number for the fuser is Q3655-69001 for a 120V printer. You can also get the fuser as a replacement supply from your toner supplier the item number is Q3655A. Depending on how long you have owned your printer, the fuser needs to be replaced at 50 months or 75,000 pages which ever comes first.

HPLaserjet4P - printer service 50 -

A 50 Service error is a fuser error. Turn the printer off for 5 to 10 minutes, then turn it back on. If the error is still there, I think your going to need to make a service call you can try reseating the fuser, but be sure to let the fuser cool completely before touching it.
Good Luck the HP Laserjet 4p is a great printer.

If you still have the 50 Service error after reseating the fuser, you might need a new fuser.
You can access the fuser by opening the rear door. It's located directly above the paper tray. There are two screws that hold it in place. Remove those two screws, and the fuser slides outs.
Hope this helps.
