Hi. my wii has been working fine for the last year or so. we havent changed the cords or fiddled in any way. the unit will turn on fine, and play the games fine, but is coming through in black and white,...

If you haven't fiddled with the cables at all and haven't removed them even if it is just to replace them, then unfortunately it sounds like it needs repairing.
You could try unplugging the cables again and seeing if that works, I find things like this can sometimes be resolved by a quick cable off and on.
The official Nintendo stand on this issue is here.
This is the number for the Nintendo customer services for America: 1-800-255-3700.

Hope this helps.

Hi, bought a second hand wii for Christmas so don't know how old it is, bought FIFA 10 for youngest boy but it won't play on wii, a black screen comes up with a message to turn off power & refer to...

Try to play music cd's and other games to see if the Wii will read anything. Make sure the discs are clean as well. If the Wii is still not playing anything then that means the drive is bad and would need to be replaced.

Nintendo Wii keeps on turning itself off? I thought it was the fuse on the plug but it isn't. It overheats and cuts out after an hour and half.

should you play a game for more than 90 minutes i mean its a prety new system and still fixing ''klinks'' and stuff so respect that you can even play it.

Not even a red light on Wii

Try a different power outlet and if that doesn't work reseat the ac adaptor into the Wii.

If that still doesn't work, try another known working ac adaptor and if the Wii still doesn't turn on then that means that the Wii has a bad main board and you'll need to replace the Wii or have it sent in for service if its still under warranty.

My wii is completely dead!

Did you have a power surge? Is it plug directly to the wall or a surge protector? The power adapter might have gotten damaged.
