The audio not coming out from the speakers is normally the amp IC being bad.

If you have a bad speaker it could shut down the amp IC, but normally it will make the amp IC go bad if a speaker gets shorted.

Try disconnecting one speaker at a time and see if the sound comes back on any of the speakers. If so, you just found your bad speaker.

Or if you have a multimeter you can just check the speakers resistance. Each speaker should measure around 3.5 ohms to 4 ohms if it is normal.

Do the RCA jacks have audio? If you have a sub woofer connected to the radio, you would be able to hear the bass from it if the RCA jacks are working.

The reason I ask is, if you have no audio from the RCA jacks you may not have a bad amp IC.
You may have a bad electronic volume IC.

Are there any problems with the tuner locking in on stations?
The reason for this question is, the FM MPX is also part of the electronic volume IC.

If you plan on trying to repair it yourself, the first thing to check would be the voltage on the speaker outputs. If you have a voltage meter you would ground the black lead to the chassis of the radio or if the radio is still in the car ground it to the chassis of the car and then put the red lead on each one of the speaker leads. You can do this in the car at the speakers, but the radio must be turned on to check it. The speaker leads should all measure around 6.5 volts to 7.5 volts. When the output amp IC is bad one or more of the speaker leads will measure much less than 6.5 volts or much more than 7.5 volts.
If you have decent soldering skills this is an easy job to complete.

The part number for the amp IC is TA8273H
The easiest place to find it would be at a service center for electronics. If they don't have it they can order it for you from one of their distributors. Most service centers will do this for you. The one I work at does.

You will need to take the radio completely apart, the amp IC is the part that is screwed right up against the big heat sink on the back of the radio
.
If the amp IC is good and the electronic volume IC is bad, you will need to have excellent soldering skills to replace it. It is a surfaced mounted IC called a flat pack with 44 pins on it spread out around the 4 sides of the IC.

Do not try to replace this if you have no experience in replacing surface mounted flat packs, you will most likely damage the circuit board and make the radio un-fixable.

The part number for the electronic volume IC is TDA7411.

Without having the radio in front of me to do more troubleshooting, this is the best I can tell you.
Since you have checked all the wiring and and disconnecting the speakers did not help you will need some expert troubleshooting to find the problem.

Repair shops would normally charge about $100 to $120 to replace the amp IC and close to the same for the electronic volume IC.

I hope this helps you to figure out the problem, or to at least make an informed decision about getting it repaired.
If you need any more help feel free to ask, and a nice rating would be really appreciated if this was helpful to you.
Have a great day :)
Dave
P.S. I like your speakers, you picked some good ones

I have a kenwood kdc bt43u and transferred it, with my amp and rear speakers, to an identical vehicle. It all works fine until i use bluetooth. sound only comes from the front factory fitted speakers

Not quite sure what you are saying here but I am going to take a stab. If I am filling in the gaps but are the rear speakers wireless? If this is the case then they are not paired with the speakers but with your receiver deck. You will need to pair the speakers as well before it will play through them.

My Kenwood KVT-516 has no sound, everything else works on it. Has video, plays cd's, plays radio, switches through everything all normal but doesn't have any sound coming out. Have check all speakers, amp,...

Check to see if you have a speakers A button and a speakers B button. Cycle them both on and off one at a time with something playing. This may turn the speakers back on. In addition you can check to see if you have a second room speakers feature that somehow got turned on- if so turn it off and the sound should come back. In addition you should download the manual and search for these features to show you have to deal with them.

I am getting sounds only out of my tuner selection (radio) source

I would start off by doing exactly that removing the black box tuner out of the equation. The next question is did you install the black box or did you have someone else install it for you. If the box is not installed propperly then the audio outs could not be wired up correctly. Double check all of your connections. It could be something as simple as bad or no power to the box.

Kenwood deck reads protect and won't function

you have one of your speaker wires shorted out to the body of the car somewhere, or the speakers that you installed are bad. That is the only two reasons it will go into protect. Correct the problem, then reset the deck - it should work fine.
Kenwood builds this feature in to protect the outputs - so they dont burn up in the case of shorted speakers or wiring.

Do you have more than one output? Does the radio have its own amp (it will have cooling fins on the back)? If yes to the first Q, its fixable. Yes 2 the 2nd Q, its trash.

No Sound Through Speakers

Hi Jake,

If you haven't done so already, I'd try double checking the speaker wiring, you may have some exposed or badly kinked wires behind the unit.

Cheers,
