So today I decided to take some pictures before leaving for my flight tomorrow. I bought a new pack of batteries and everything is fine till I took this one picture, my camera shuts itself off.
There are no warning messages or show of defective batteries. Currently when I turn on my camera, it would turn itself off immediately. I'd take out the batteries and memory stick to troubleshoot my camera. It would work but no longer than a few seconds. When I take a picture, the camera shuts off and you can still see the silhouette of the picture taken on the LCD screen.
I do not know what to do, I hope there's an easy fix to this because I really need to use my camera on my trip for tomorrow and have no time to buy a new one. Thanks in advance.
i'm getting kinda irritated by all the 'know-it-alls' that keep saying just put in new batteries...i'm having the literally the EXACT same problem you described and believe me...the batteries are NOT the problem. i searched the problem and it seems like a lot of people with this particular camera end up with the same problem...new batteries...suddenly you take a picture and all you see is a sillouhette, then the camera automatically shuts itself off with the lens stuck out and no matter what you do there's no hope whatsoever getting the damn thing to turn back on...i'm starting to think that this is just overall a really crappy camera...otherwise if anyone actually DOES find a solution that doesn't suggest new batteries it would really be helpful

I have the same problem and its not the batteries because I went out and bought 4 packs of different brands and it did the same thing.
