Usually depend on the dripping system go inside the boiler and produce steam.Try to use a scale remover and probably will help you out.Sometimes this operation need to be manually opening the iron and cleaning the dripper

Calcium buildup - when ironing white specks keeps getting on clothes.

.To solve this problem, switch to bottled spring water. Once the water is changed it will take several uses before your iron adjusts to the new mixture and the issue is corrected.
to speed that up Place the iron in clean or high stream mode if its a feature on your iron if not I would wipe it down with the solution usually 3 parts water 1 part vinegar. Also Rowenta sells a cleaner specifically for their irons and you can purchase it online here is the link its from macys but rowenta brand and is now on sale

http://www.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=64754&cm_mmc=Google_Feed-_-6-_-77-_-{keyword}&kw={keyword}
Stream is not working

Sounds like the internal tab attached to the trigger is broken. Unplug unit, let cool. Pry up the rubber cushion from the handle, working from the front to the rear cord, You will probably see the tab lying on the switch. New trigger assy can be had from Rowenta Service Center:

California Electric Service in Concord CA (it is the only Rowenta repair station in California) go to either of the following addresses:
their website is: http://www.californiaelectricservice.com/
or tech service: service@californiaelectricservice.com

This would be my first choice as your boiler is working fine. Good luck and tell us how things get resolved.

I have a rowenta iron that leaks a lot of water

Here's a solution . . . Do NOT buy ROWENTA! I've had 3 Rowenta irons. All of them have eventually began to dump water out of the base. . . heck, the Titanic didn't leak as much as a Rowenta iron!

I have a Rowenta 1700 iron. The iron has started to act up. When I plug the iron in it just flashes & does not get hot. It is like it is in the stand by mode when you leave it on & don't iron...

This is a problem with a lot of Rowenta irons. It is the auto shut off that is not working properly and the only way to fix it is to have it disassembled and the switch hardwired to be on whenever the iron it plugged in. It is a thermal metal switch and it just stops working and then the iron will not turn on and the yellow light blinks.

Iron No Longer Heats Up

Recommended solution, gently shake, did not work.

Considering the iron was at a minimum two years old, I decided to purchase another Rowenta. I found the recommended solution documented on a FAQ sheet enclosed with the new iron.

I actually own another Rowenta iron (I now have three) that has the same issue. I will send one iron, the one manufactured in Germany, to a Rowenta Service Center to see if can be repaired - it was the first Rowenta iron I purchased and it provided several good years of service.
