I found this post when looking for the same info. Here's what I did to make my Acer 3680 restore without the cds.

First, I opened the Acer eRecovery Managment Program. It was under on of the Acer choices in the programs menu.

I had to do an initial setup which was just setup a password.

Next, I just shut the computer off, and pressed FN + F10 , CTRL + F10 and Alt+F10

I'm not sure which one did it for sure but one of them worked and booted me into the recovery menu.

Hope this helps!

Have you tried to call acer for tech support and ask for a cd? normally your OS is an OEM meaning it is produced by acer for acer customers only. they should be able to provide you a cd like dell does to its customer who lost their cd.
also asked the tech whether you computer has a factory image which you can possibly use to restore your computer to its original factory settings like as if it was just first received.
if you know the exact version of windows installed inside your computer and you still have the windows xp sticker in tack on your computer try borrowing a cd and install a fresh copy. if prompted to type in a product key just simply the one that is on the sticker on your system

you should try to call acer and demand for your cd because you paid for it and you should have it. try to check out with acer whether your system has a factory image which you can use to restore your computer to its factory image just when you first receive your notebook.

I have an acer aspire AST180 UA381B and I need the system restore disks but they do not carry them anymore. What can I do?

I would suggest you install Linux Mint 10, a free operating system.

Without the restore disks, you would have to buy a new Windows CD. Have a friend burn an ISO image of Linux Mint. Just go to www.linuxmint.com, and there are lots of helpful tips there on how to install. Linux Mint has a similar feel to Windows, so it should be good!

Can i restore my aspire t180 to factory settings without the os cd.my sister gave me this comp. without any of the software it came with

If the recovery partition is intact, boot the machine and press ALT + F10 simultaneously. If the partition still exists and hasn't been corrupted, the machine will take you through the recovery process of which Factory Restore is among the options.

It sounds as if you have a system partition and a data partition on one hard drive. The one that you can not access is your restore partition and is needed to restore the system should it become corrupted.
You can format the restore drive and us it, but it will leave you without a restore option. It would be best to buy an inexpensive external hard drive. 1TB external drives are dropping in price and will increase your storage capacity 1,024GB.

I need to reinstall my computer without deleteing any files

Insert the Windows CD and follow the steps until you see to Repair press "R" this will repair windows files only without affecting your stored files.

Another option, if you already installed Windows and need to restore your files, use third party software.

I want to restore my Acer Aspire M1100 desktop computer back to factory settings. I have the disks from Acer, one is a System Disk and one is a Recovery Disk. Is there any way to restore/reinstall Vista...

Hello,

If you used the restore disk on your computer it will erase all files, and all your programs. the restore Factory settings means "ALL" settings the time you created the CD for the restore.

If you have an individual Vista Installer CD with the Serial you can use it and use restore option.

Thank you for using Fixya
Hope this helps.

I want to restore my acer aspire 3680 to its factory settings but i don't no how.

Do you have a restore disc?

If not you can use the emanagement software on your PC to create one.

Once you have your restore disc, reboot your pc. Once the ACER logo disappears push the <Delete> key to enter BIOS (Setup) browse through the menu's until you find the option for "Boot Order" and change them so that your cd/dvd drive is the first one in the list. Push <F10> to save and reboot

put your restore disc in the drive. And reboot as necessary.
From here on out it should be simply following the prompts.
If you need further help just post another comment here and we'll do our best to help

Acer aspire 3680 series i want to do a system restore from the back up cd but it doesn't do it automatically and i can't seem to find the appropriate program on the disk? any ideas?

Rreboot your computer with the system Restore CD in it. it will ask you if you want to boot to CD. do so and you will begin the restore process.

The problem is that the disk is bootable, but has no autostart for use in Windows. it was meant to be used without windows, as they asume if you are using it windows is most likely broken.
