Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

1 Answer

We have a 32 inch crt tv and it has stopped working. It tries to come up, we hear a very brief bit of audio, and then it shuts down. We have had a repairman out and he is going to consult manuals since he finds nothing obvious. What can he be checking?

It sounds like the problem is electrical. The power converter may need to be tested and replaced. There could be a short. But he should have checked for electrical issues while looking at your television.
Repairmen consult manuals because many times they will show electrical diagrams and many times they have trouble-shooting charts specific to your brand of television.

I HAVE A 32 INCH RCA COLOR TV THAT IS CONNECTED TO MY DISH RECIEVER WHEN I TURN THE TV ON IT TURNS OFF BY ITSELF. MY OTHER TV WORKS JUST FINE. HELP!

Your RCA TV has problems. You did not specify the model of TV. I will tell you, most of the RCA sets that will come on and shut down are nightmares for us TV repair people. The best solution is to replace this TV. I have had real headaches with RCAs that have your problem. Even if you have it repaired....its only a matter of days when it will continue to shut down. This is very good advice, though sorry to hear your TV is on the fritz. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

I have a Sony KP-65XBR10W 65-inch HDTV - green flashes shut down

Most likely you have a Green CRT that is failing. Sony no longer stocks the CRT assemblies for most of the older Projection sets. Instead what is required is to send the Green CRT assembly back to Sony (minus the Delta Lens), so they can replace the Tube on the Optical Coupler. This is a major cost of about 400.00 to 500.00 for the CRT plus the the tear down and reassembly time. Then you need to do a major Convergence alignment because the other two CRTs are aligned to the Green CRT. Due to the cost and the fact that Sony will not be supporting the older sets much longer, I would not invest the money into it.
I hope this helps,

Philips DPTV 60PP9753/17. Problem started when blue CRT seemed to "fuzz" out. Tried to increase the brightness via the Blue G2. Made no difference. The sound quit while the picture was running. Turned...

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
First of all lower the blue and any other screen controls or service menu settings back to where they were or lower.
Then see if it powers on again with a picture.
If it still shuts off, unplug the Blue CRT circuit board and see if it works.
If it does work the blue CRT may be shorted .
Your problem may have been corroded CRT pins.

Panasonc 32 inch TV - when you press the power switch on the front the indicator light blinks constantly - If you pull the power cord you hear a relay sound - then plug it back in and you can power it up -...

Using the remote turn it on and off if you do not get the same results then you will be best served by taking it to a authorized service center since the power relay unit switch is one punit and not something that a customer can do himselfif nota qualified technician.

Blinking red power light - set will not turn on

Were the pale blue lines real thin in a slight diagonal from bottom to top of your screen? If so you either have a bad component in the blue drive, Blue CRT socket or your Blue CRT is shorted.Try removing the blue CRT socket and trying to power up your set for a moment without the blue socket attached to the tube. Be sure the CRT socket doesn't touch any components when you try this. Let me know if the set starts up without the blue.
