Question about Dryers
I have inserted a link that shows an expolded view of a Maytag dryer. This may aid you as you progress through the disassembly of the dryer.
1. Disconnect the power from the dryer.
2. Remove the front panel.
3. Remove the drum bulkhead
4. Remove the drum belt by releasing the tension on the idler pulley.
5. Remove the drum.
6. Remove the TRU-ARC snap ring clipped to the front of the roller shaft. It looks like a C with 2 small holes in each end.
These rings require a special TRU-ARC plier, or use a butter knife or a putty knife, instead to pry the rings off.
DO NOT misplace the snap rings.
7. Remove the rollers, clean the shafts, or replace if too badly scored, lubricate with poly-lube, and reassemble.
Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint.
