Question about Denon AVR688
I've been trying to connect my DVD player to my new Denon receiver (AVR-687) through a digital cable for a couple of weeks now. The audio works fine through RCA cables but when I try to use a digital cable - nothing. Until today I only had two front speakers but today I got a center channel as well as surround speakers and next week I'm picking up a sub. Again today I tried the optical cable and no sound. I have the input setting on Auto and I've tried assigning both optical 1 and 2 as well as the coaxial cable inputs but again nothing. When I did a tone test all the speakers seemed to be connected correctly. Do you think I need to take the item back or am I missing something in the manual? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
If you've done that already and still no response from your system, I would suggest to take back to the place where you bought it and ask them to check it for you. Tell them that you follow the user's manual to the "T" but still unable to make it work.
