What is the brand of your computer? some branded computers have an image inside the hard drive which you just need to access like in some dell computers. try checking out the manufacturer. try also looking inside your hard hard drive or click my computer.. if there are more than 1 drive inside and you just have 1 hard drive installed chances are the other drive could be the factory image of your system which you can try to restore
for proper image restoration try to contact the manufacturer of your computer

Hi Cindy,

A couple of initial corrective steps you can try:
1. Boot into Safe Mode and run your Anti-Virus;
2. Boot into "Last Known Configuration that Worked".

If your concern has not been corrected after completion of the above procedures, pls post back that we can figure something else. Additionally any other information that you could post such as Operating System, Anti Virus used etc.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FIXYA.

My emachine running vista home premium has no operating system dvd. I want to reinstall the system. It has a virus no one can seem to fix

Hello,

Many computers do not come with OS CD's anymore. Have your tried malwarebytes yet? It should be able to locate the problem. If it truly is a virus use updated AVG free to clean it up afterwords.

Hope this helps

I AM LOOKIG FOR BEST SOLUTION ON HOW TO FIX TROJAN VIRUS IN MY RAM MEMORY

A Trojan virus can only be in your memory (RAM) if it's somewhere else on your hard drive. Your RAM loses all of the information its storing when the computer is shut off, it doesn't hold data the way a hard drive does. Back-up all of your info that you don't want to lose, and then reinstall Windows choosing the option to reformat the hard drive\partition and then install. You could try to run some free-ware virus programs on it before trying to reinstall Windows. I like AVAST Antivirus, Malwarebytes' Antimalware, & SuperAntiSpyware. There are some viruses and bugs that just can't be removed without reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling your operating system.

My acer t180 won't start up in normal mode i have just intalled the new norton onto it i have 1gb of ram but it starts in safemode....do i need more ram.....?

1. You may have to go into "safe mode" 1st and then start you pc in normal mode.
2. if you have a virus you may not be able to recover with the Norton anti virus.
3. There is a free software that you can try called "Ccleaner" this may restore you to the boot screen. A google search will find the site.
4. You may have to "format" the drive and reinstall your Operating System.
I hope this helps.

Computer running very slow , a notice keeps popping up that the virtual memory is low and it is trying to increase it

You're running too much at the same time. I would not recommend touching the settings unless you are positive that you know what you are doing. However, if you are confident that you know what you are doing, and you want to take matters into your own hands: Start Menu Control Panel System Advanced Tab Under Performance, click settings, go to the Advanced tab, and set more virtual memory
