How do I shut off talking navigator on windows 8

Here are a few things to try:
[WIN]+[ENTER] (seems to turn narrator on and off)
[CAPS LOCK] + [ESC] (Seems to turn off narrator)
Win 8.1: Control Panel > Optimize visual display (Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the Computer Easier to see) > uncheck "Turn on Narrator".

I accidentally turned on Windows Narrator using [win]+[enter], so my control panel didn't have the narrator box checked... which means going to control panel didn't turn it off. Finding those hotkeys came in very handy.

I don't have the Quick Reference Guide for my Compaq Presario F756NR (may never have had it). I cannot figure out way each of the function buttons (F1 to F10) are supposed to do. And what is the f

Fn button is your Function button, you hold it down and it allows you to use the hotkeys that are usually colour coded the same as the Fn lettering. Stuff like brightness/contrast volume up and down. That kinda thing.

From what i hear you say, it sounds like your hard drive may have crashed. they are really easy to repair, but all your date will be lost if you replace it. And dont freak out because im not sure if it is that with out looking at it, but if it did crash i hope you backed everything up.

Hi Strange problem with Marantz pm7001 When ever I turn the volume upto around 1/3 and 1/2 of the way, the amp cuts out and reset it self down to minimum volume. It seems like the amp ins't enough power...

What's probably happening is that the amplifier is shutting down or cutting back the volume as protection from damage. You may have a partial short in the speaker wiring that is not a problem at lower levels, but at higher ones causes the amp to see too low a load. There may a problem with a speaker or crossover component that is breaking down at higher volumes. Or something in the amp's output stage is unable to handle the load.

Test the system with a known good speaker system and length of wire and see if the trouble continues. If it does, you'll know it's the amplifier that needs to be checked. If the test speakers can reach normal volume, you can start checking the wiring and other speakers for the source of the trouble.
