What OS are you using sir? Do you have an existing speakers before that worked? try your new speakers on another computer with existing and working speakers. So, that we can isolate the problem, whether of your pc or your speakers.

thanks

What is the sw out socket for on an amplifier

SW stands for Sub-Woofer. The socket is an output channel for a Bass Speaker. If its an RCA / Phono socket, looks a little like (o) then it's for an active sub, a speaker that already has an amplifier built into it. If the socket has push-spring connections to feed wires into, it's more than likely an amplified output, meaning that your amplifier will supply a speaker with no amplifier. Hope this helps you out.

No sound

Hello,
  1. Did you have the correct audio-drivers installed on the system?
  2. Maybe the speakers are muted in the audio settings?
  3. You could try to attach some external speakers, such as an amplifier or a headphone to the laptop.

Greetings...

Dell Dimension 4700 PC Speaker No Sound

Check to make sure all cables are connected. After this you will need to click on your sound card properties and set it to 5.1. which will allow all the speakers to play.

Please note you will need to have a card that supports 5.1 sound I do not believe the stock card in the Dell supports this feature which could be the problem.

My speakers are just making a frying sound the songs show as if they are playing but i am not hearing it.

Good day sir, if you are only hearing frying sound, chances are the power amplifier circuit is bad. to confirm if its bad, use the speakers on any portable mp3 or disk player to see if the same frying sound will appear. if the amplifier is bad, bring it to a technician for repairs, if the cost for repairs is the same as a new one, buy the new one.

Just need to know how to hook up proper for stereo sound

start with the right speaker, that is you control for now. plug in the power supply one end to the wall the other to the right speaker, connect the left and right speakers, connect the sub woofer to the right speaker, (most of the plug and sockets are color coded, or at least different sockets sizes so they will only fit properly with the correct connector) now you should have one wire left coming out of the right speaker-that gets connected into the GREEN socket of you computer.
Now you should get sound...good it works.
From here we go to START->SETTINGS->CONTROL PANEL->RIGHT CLICK ON SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES->VOLUME TAB->ADVANCE (TO THE RIGHT OF SPEAKER VOLUME->SPEAKER SETUP->FOR THE DROP DOWN ARROW SELECT DESKTOP STEREO SPEAKER->APPLY->OK
And that my friend is properly done.
enjoy,,, please leave a rating, thank you

Sound won't work without the earphones being plugged in

Make sure the speaker volume is turned up and also go into Control Panel, Sounds and make sure nothing is muted and all volumes are turned up. Also make sure the speakers are plugged into the sound jack in the back of the pc. The speakers also need power but since the light is on, it sounds like they are plugged in.
