The site I work for may have a used replacement screen for your model. Just measure your screen just the visible part dont worry about the part that is behinfd the screen frame just top to bottom and side to side measurement, then leave them an email with the Information and they will respond quickly. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

You will need the DLP chip replaced. I do not recommend trying this on your own on a Mitsubishi. You need a technician who has extensive Mitsubishi experience to replace that chip(if it is available for your particular model) If the chip is not available for your particular model, it means replacing the light engine. For that cost I would update to a LCD or LED TV & come out ahead.
If you want an idea what it costs to replace the DLP chip (if avail for your unit) contact a local servicer & see what they can quote you over the phone. Be sure you are sitting down.
Considering the age of your unit I would be looking at an LCD or LED flat screen.
Thanks for using FixYa. The issue is with the convergence ICs going bad and needs to be replaced. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs(STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are repair kits available which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself you can buy and repair it yourself. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
The ssm is very exspensive at least 250-350 but it sounds like you only need the convergence repair kit. You can get the DPTV305-DPTV345 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which also contains the Cd with instructions.
