Ignore that unhelpful dialog. Open "My Computer" and look for an extra drive (Under "Devices with Removable Storage") and open that. There should be directories with picture files in them that you can drag to your desktop.

I borrowed a Caplio R5 camera, have taken some super pics, but couldn't download onto computer. So took the memory stick to Boots and their developer couldn't find the photos. Put the memory stick...

The Photo's are currently stored on the cameras internal memory, you'll need to transfer them to the card using the camera's menu options.

Failing that, plug the camera into your PC and switch on, a box should appear asking you which programme would you like to access the new device with.

Select the folder option, then click on and open any folders therein, one will be the camera memory the other the card memory.

Transferring images on camera memery onto memory card.

I had the same problem, and I found after much playing and mostly accidental findings that I could do this by following these steps

1. Put an SD card in the camera. Will not work otherwise
2. Go into playback mode, where you view the pictures, button looks like an blue arrow pointing to the right
3. Press the round 4 way controller downwards, and a menu (that I have never seen before!) appears
4. Choose the 4th icon along on the top line and that will give you options to transfer from memory card to camera and the other way around.

Oploading video

you need to know where the default folder is that your camera transfers pics and video to, on your pc, it could be a folder named as the date you transfered or Kodak or simply transfers automatically to my pictures or my video, so connect the camera again and see where it is transfering them to. If you mean you cannot open the file, then you may not have the required software to do it, so when you find the file, right click on it and then select 'Open With' and then in the next option line will be any programme you have installed to view videos. If when you right click and then there is no available programme, click browse instead and then look on your c:/ drive and then programme files and look for similair programmes to windows media player or quicktime, the select the option 'Always open files of this type using this programme'

Cant find how to get picture out over air and also how to get pictures in my cam gallery out to others or use my self as id on im

you do not need to open the camera up to use it in your IM programme. The programme itself will need to be set up so that it knows you have a camera, so in the optins or settings or preferences menu the cam will need to be set up and also need to enable in the menu somewhere something similair to 'show others I have a web cam'. When you click open a video call the camera will automatically turn on and you can adjust the size and volume to suit. As for pictures, you use the camera software to do this and in options or preferences there will be a default place where the pictures will be stored, eg my pictures. To send a picture within the IM programme you use 'send a file' and it will ask you then to browse for the file or photo, click open and it will load ready for your IM recipient to accept and download it, if you are sent one then it will probably go to 'my downloads' folder or 'my received files' folder. in your firewall or security programme in the allowed programmes or allowed settings make sure Yahoo messenger is in the allowed list, if not add it in whatever way your programme works. If you have to pay your ISP more money to add to the allowed list, then cancel the security software, and use a freeware one. Paying for added security, when it needs to be allowed and not stopped, it's a rip off, you do not need to pay for any added security, in fact you can readily download more than adequate programmes for free on the net, namely 'Zone alarm', and most of these ISP security programmes are no better than a reputable free one.

Transferring video files to my pc

Loading video to PC should be the same as loading your pictures, although they will jist appear as the first frame of your video; looking like a picture. If you hover your mouse over the file you should see a file type as either .mpeg,.avi or mpeg4, you then right click and open with your preferred programme, be it your DVD player or Windows Media player.
