When I turn on my Hoover vacuum the light comes on
and not the motor.
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover #6445900. You may have a loose wire that came loose or other wise you may have a bad motor, switch or a stuck carbon brush. So you can check your owners manual in the trouble shooting section, or check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer or to contact the Hoover factory cust serv line listed below.
