My unit just started this today, when you push the open button, it will not open. If I push the angle button it will not move either. It does make a sound that the button is working but it does not do anything, you know like it will not let you do this function.

Re: screen will not open
It seems the problem is the ribbon cable, the one that connects the screen to the main board.
There is a RECALL for this model from Pioneer.
my suggestion is to contact Pioneer and send it to them for repair at no charge. pioneerelectronics.com

If you're still looking for help I have the same one and had the same issue. You have to push the eject button once and right after push and hold it and it will let you change the angle. You have to be really quick between the push and push and hold. If it opens, just close and try again.
i have the same problem with my unit. there is a way to reset the screen so it starts to come out again as i have done it 3 times before. i forgot the exact method but it involves the "rear" "band" and "reset" buttons. i found this out through calling pioneer canada tech support and i will call them again on monday when they open.
We recently purchased a pair of these from eBay and started having the reset on bump issue almost immediately. I guessed that the pads on the door had become permanently compressed over time and that was allowing the door to move too much during a bump. As the door moves, the switch moves resets the unit. I bought some 1/8 foam weather strip with adhesive backing from ACE and put one 2” strip on either side of the disc opening just below the latches. This helped quite a bit but we still experienced resetting on big road bumps. I put a small piece of the weather strip on the end of the little plastic boss on the door that pushes the door switch in. We just got home from a 1.5 hour trip and the DVD player did not reset. I am not ready to claim success yet, but I think I am close to solving this problem.
Mine did the same thing. If it is not aligned properly this will happen. Take the kit off from around the unit. Then tell it to go to what ever screen setting you want. If it works with the kit removed this is your problem.
Oh, I have the same problem. What the hell is that? I like all the futurs that Pioneer AVIC-D2 has and I get this problem after three years use of this unit. Please someone from Pioneer technical dep. could help us?
