Question about HP OfficeJet 7110 All-In-One Thermal Printer

1 Answer

It's not getting recognized by the Plug & Play, but everything is installed

I installed all the programs needed for the printer, but every time I plug the USB cable in, it'll make two dinging noises, and that's it. All the software works, and I don't think that the USB port hub is faulty...
Please help, I really need it!

Anime-
1. try a shorter usb cable.
2. plug the unit directly to the power source instead of a power strip

if this doesn't work first uninstall the ghost devices from device driver and try again. steps are below(with printer usb plugged to computer).

1. right click on my computer > click on properties
2. click on hardware tab
3. click on device manager
4. click on view in the top menu
5. click on show hidden devices
6. uninstall any unknow devices by right clicking on it
7. expand system drives and it will show generic drives- uninstall them all
8. unplug usb > reboot and plug back with installation cd in the drive

If this doesent work you have to make changes in the registery: let me know and i will give you the steps:

you can try following the steps in the link below:

Told that this is a PCL5 type printer and can be used as a plug n'play, and no need to install a driver. It does work, but will not hold the programming. I only want to use Tray1.

the thing is that with plug and play equipment, when you plug it into the pc and turn it on Usb connections) , there is a small message just above the task bar which says installing driver for printer
it is the way that the pc recognizes the printer in a port
it may be best it you go to the control panel ,printers and devices , add a printer and install it properly

Only thing I can suggest is try to get the latest install files from Brother. Sounds like the program you have is not comaptible with that O/S

Have a hp office jet 6310 and i use it wirelessly all the time for printing and have used it to fax. I have never used scanner but would like to. when i click start scan or scan to it show select...

I suggest that you run the scan from a computer and not from the printer, it works tons better. Each computer needs to have the install program run on it, NOT PLUG AND PLAY. Plug and play will make most stuff work, but not everything.
Further, HP printers are fussy about exactly when to connect the printer, get the correct install program for your printer and OS from HP.com, and install following the directions exactly.
Scanning is the one function that never works with plug and play.

I just recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and have been unable to get the machine to recognize the printer. Will this printer work with windows 7 machines

Go to Konica web site and see if they have install software for 7. Not all printers and less scanners work with 7. Many printers work poorly if installed plug and play. Better success with manufacturers install program and follow EXACTLY the install directions.

Can I make this work with vista? Also, the scanner attachment?

Sorry, that printer is not supported by Vista, as far as I can tell there is no way to make it work. So sorry about that.

CDP78 USB Device Not Recognized

HOW did you re-install everything ?

Make sure you UNPLUG the usb cable first, then UNINSTALL the drivers and all software - reboot your computer - make sure at all times your usb cable is unplugged from the device - once cleaned and unisntalled - re-install drivers and software - BUT still, do not plug the cable - ONCE and only once the drivers are installed, then plug the USB cable, inspect the USB cable to make sure it's secured. Have you tried unplugging your printer for a few minutes and plugging it in again ?

IN windows device manager do you see the device listing with a yellow exclamation mark ?

If all else fails you may have a faulty circuit board on the printer.

Printer installation?

You will have to reload your printer. Plug the printer to your computer and reboot. The Plu and Play should recognize it. Then the Ad Hardware Wizard will pop up. Load the CD that came with the printer and the Wizard will allow you to load and configure the printer driver. Once the drivers are loaded you can print a test page. If it is a USB printer then load the drivers first, then plug your printer in and reboot.

"Installing driver software" every time I plus it it

It is not installing it like it did the first time you plugged in the printer, but it is recognizing the device is now attached to the PC - so it is enabling the driver so you can use the printer. It is the nature of plug and play. You plug, it enables the driver, so you can 'play'...

Let me ask one question. Have you loaded the print drivers for your printer. If not do so. This will fix the problem.
