Question about Tomtom GO 910

1 Answer

Cannot pair TomTom GO 910 with Scala Rider Q2 - even though TomTom sees the device in the Bluetooth search. Hi there hodgep. I can relate to your problem, but not help unfortunately. I have tried to pair these two and have the exact same problem. I found out how to delete all bluetooth pairings from the Q2 on another forum but this didn't help. I even deleted my mobile phone from the TomTom 910 (didn't use the handsfree feature that much anyway) thinking this might cause some kind of a conflict, but it hasn't helped. The cynical side of me reckons that TomTom won't allow anything but the "Rider" versions to pair with a scala headset, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Would love to hear if you find a solution.

I have a similar problem. I emailed Tomtom.com stating that I do a lot of wildlife photography and use the Tomtom GO 910 to return to previous sightings. Often I leave the car and walk down named dirt roads using the voice instructions. It's normal for me to walk 5-10 kilometres. I asked them if they could recommend ANY bluetooth headset ( using their promoted Bluetooth capability ) that I could use so that I can keep noise to a minimum. So far absolute silence has been their helpful response. I have had no problems with the 910 but BIG problems trying to get help or advice with my request. I will post anything I find that is useful but I'm not holding my breath.

TomTom GO 910 won't turn on.

Two possibilities:
- if someone has used the wrong charger, and connected it to a 12V supply, the mainboard may be damaged. In that case, you need a replacement.
- the battery may be discharged. Even if the green light is on, it doesn't necessarily charge up. Try pushing it hard onto the mount for a few minutes, then see if it will turn on.

Computor does not reconise my tomtom go 910 satnav says formatting failed computor says usb device has failed

Power on the TT 910 and then press the Reset Button on the base of the TT. It is a tiny hole with a hidden button. use a rounded object, match end or soft pencil to puch the button. Then reconnect it to the PC and the PC will see the TT. Note that you may have to reload apps and maps depending on the state of the TT.

Tomtom 730 doesn't switch on!

Hopefully all you need to do is a soft reset. To do this use a streightened paper clip and insert it into the small round hole marked reset on the bottom of your tt. Gently press the reset button in until you feel a click. Hold the reset button in for 20 seconds. Hope this does the job.

Blackberry won't pair with sony bluetooth

Can you try these steps even if you have already failed - so it is clear exactly where your problem lies and how your blackberry is behaving.

Turn on your Sony device and activate the bluetooth feature, set it to pair or search for a device (if this is a headset, it will search automatically, once it is turned on)

On your Blackberry choose the bluetooth option and enable

At your next prompt, when asked ensure your bluetooth device is in pair mode - Say Yes

It will go through a searching for devices screen

Here you will find a list of bluetooth devices in your range that can be paired - (these devices should include your sony)

If at this point you get a message stating no new devices found - Say Ok

Do you see a list of previously paired devices which includes your Sony?!

Let me know how you get on with the above, and what if any error message you receive.

Want to send picture from phone to computer

Can you not use bluetooth to send pictures from phone to computer. Search on your mobile phones menu to see if there is bluetooth and enable it. If your mobile is not bluetooth enabled, you may still be able to send pictures from phone to pc if there is a USB cable slot in the phone. To send to the pc via bluetooth, either your pc has been set up with bluetooth, or, if not, you have
to install bluetooth using a bluetooth dongle which comes with CDrom, and may be purchased from computer stores like Currys or online for £10-15. Let me know if you have bluetooth, and I'll help you more. Once there is Blue tooth it needs to be turned on, and discovery mode has to be enabled, (not disabled) in order to communicate with other nearby bluetooth enabled devices. Get back to me tell me what you found out, Good luck papertigers

Thanks for the input.

hi, Check the photo below to see if your plastic lugs are in good condition . If they look OK then it is possible you have a bad contact to the pins or maybe even a bent pin. be careful though as the contacts are very easily damaged if you go prodding around.

Back light of the LCD display is not working

Get a RMA by TomTom by callinging them directly (see on TomToms webpage) I've solved by shipping my unit to Neaderland with UPS at no cost, they replaced the motherboard (not the display, this  just remained the same!) I've received the repaired 910 after 5 days and I've spent no one cent! And I've got also the battery, AC power supply and software replacement! Other problems of the software are still present: the unit won't cange colors by night-light changes (only one time after a reset...), tryes to connect to phantom computers, after a power on it get off and then on if connected on the car support,... The 910 is a crazy device, not stable at all. I think I'll change it with the new model Go930T Ciao (sorry for my bat english)
