Dialed extension doesn't go where it's supposed to

It's an Avaya Partner release 7 system

  • mgough Jun 23, 2008

If you dial from the outside, you get the automated attendant and no matter what extension you dial, it goes to extension 10.

If you use the name lookup, then it goes to the right extension

WHat model phone do you have? What Model phone system? Is it a voicemail transfer?

Are you talking the voicemail is not transferring to the correct extension? Please tell me exactly what is happening. Is this on external calls or internal?

  • Anonymous Jun 23, 2008

OK. Is it just extensions 10-19 or does this affect 20-29 as well?

Has this ever worked? If not there are a few settings that are wrong.

Have you tried to make changes to the greeting recently, and that is when it started to work incorrectly? Check your "selector codes" It sounds like the "1" selector code is messed up, and not letting you enter the 2nd digit. (possibly the 2 as well)

"No such station" message appears when I try to

It means there's "No Such Station" :-)

VM extensions are part of the system, usually the pilot number is the lowest of the sequence. If your button got reprogrammed and you're dialing a number that doesn't exist, you'll get that error.
Start by dialing like 22, 23, 24, 25 (4 highest ports in a 0816 DSU). Reprogram the button by Intercom **1 press the button and dial 6xx where xx is the VM pilot number.

My phone will NOT let me call out when i dial a number it says its restricted. how do i fix this problem???

Here's a phone system lesson. Panasonic discontinued your TD phone system about 8 years ago, so you either got a super deal or the system has been installed that long ago. Restrictions are programmed into the system by an installer and manager. There's a Class of Service override access by dialing 47 on the intercom and a code. Since the 7436 is a special phone, it's probably the one attached to extension 101. If that phone is restricted, clearly whoever owns the system doesn't want whatever you're dialing to be dialed.

Now you wouldn't be asking "someone on the internet" for instructions on how to beat the restrictions would you?

I didn't think so. Check with the system owner or installer.

I have a problem with my Samsung iDCS 28D phone. All incoming calls used to be routed to me by default (unless caller specifically punched in a different extension). Calls are now being routed directly to...

try dialing 600 to clear call forwarding, then re-set your forwarding to busy/ no answer followed by the VM number.

I have uploaded a 'how to' video, more of these are at http://www.abbeytelecom.com

I hope this helps.

I am tring to figure out how to program extensions on our kx-t7737 phone.

A 773x phone has 24 buttons, 12 are lighted and 12 are Feature. If you want to reassign some of the lighted buttons as extension buttons on the phone, you can press PROGRAM 1 + ext no STORE and that will give you a busy indication whenever that extension is off hook.

You can program the right side buttons to speed dial the extensions by just pressing PROGRAM ext no STORE. It will dial the extension when you press it if you have intercom dial tone.

How the button behaves is dependent on which system the phone is attached to. In a TA, you have to start with dial tone on the intercom. In a TAW/TDA you don't.

Hello, i hope you[re doing great.  I had a problem with the auto dial button and a solution was to change from program to set.... in the rear part of the phone, where the phone cable plugs in, there is a little switch. Try changing its position, hope this works for you too...

D1232 Panasonic - Removing Long distance restriction

Changing the Class of Service COS of that extension to "1" will allow it to dial anything.
In a TD system, that is a 2-step process, because you have to find where the extenion jack is located in the system.

Go into programming and dial 003. If you press the SP PHONE button, it will step you through all the ports in the system and give you extension numbers. To start 01-1 will be 101 01-2 201 02-1 102 etc. Since you're in a motel, it should be renumbered to match the rooms and if you started with 100 or eliminated 113 your whole plan may be different.

Once you find the jack number for your station, press the HOLD button and dial 601 SP PHONE and the 2 digit jack number from above. You will be looking at your extension COS. Dial 1 STORE and it will turn off that extension's toll restrictions.

Please rate this solution and let me know if you had any problems following this instructions.
