Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100
I just figured it out.
Holding the device so that the ear piece part is pointing towards you, locate a little raised arrow on the top of the device, just below the battery cover.
The arrow points to a little hole, which you need to push something sharp like a pen point into. This should release the cover, which you can now slide off.
Mine did not release so easily, so I also used a flathead screwdriver (a pretty small one, only about a 1/3 inch wide) to drive in between the body and the battery cover, twisting it off as I pushed a pen into the little hole.
Should work fine. Now you just need to get those weird lithium batteries it uses!

The battery is 3-volt Number 2032. I was ready to run it over with a Winnebago when I finally discovered that little arrow and figured out that I had to put something into the little opening to release the (very abused after I tried to pry it off with a knife) battery cover.

Me too. I've been trying for hours to get it open. Anyone?
