Question about Creative Labs MP3 & Digital Media Players

1 Answer

No software cd

I wish to transfer mp3 files from my creative zen 20mg mp3 player to a new computer.
I have lost the software cd that came with the mp3 player and no longer have access to the original computer that stored the mp3 files.
How can I achieve this transfer?

Thanks ****

I lost my disc that i got with my zen sleek and since have a new computer that i want to transfer my music from my zen to my computer! please help!

you can either go get the origanal software from the creative support site or you can drag and drop the music from the mp3 player to your computer, just open up my computer and look for your mp3 player listed in that window open it up and find the music folder and take all your music from that folder to your computer

Transfrering mucisc CD to ZEN via windows XP

It should use the same software to transfer music, but you may need to update the software to handle the new players firmware. If you are trying to use the old software from the old Zen, it may have some issues with the new player. The software for the newer Zen players is a bit different than older versions.
Does it give you problems ripping CDs or is it not transferring the tracks?
You may want to use Windows Media Player or another software to rip the CDs into mp3 format (I recommend that over other formats because WMA and mp4 are really hardcore with licensing and copying files to other computers.) and then transfer them using the Creative software or another media manager like WMP or Notmad Explorer or one of the many others out there.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I have worked with Creative players a lot over the years.

Cheers

Can't Add files to mp3 after reinstalling-device not found.

I have an older ZEN, so I'm not sure if I have Creative Media Source 5, but mine never worked really well either. My Windows Media Player recognizes mine, so I just sync to that library. I even have gotten a new laptop since I got my ZEN and I never downloaded anything, I just connected it to Window's Media. I hope that's helpful!

Transferring music onto mp3 player

Use Creative's Media Explorer which came with the player. Click on "add media", then select which files you wnat to transfer. This applies to MP3 files but if you have loaded CD's onto the PC in their original format, you will need to convert them to MP3s.

My Zen Micro

Go here: Creative.com -->Support -->Downloads -->Select appropriate information -->All Under the Drivers section, download 2.01.00 Under the applications section, download 9. Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.21 Or I could just email you the drivers. I have a Zen Micro myself and have the CD also. Or, you can just bypass the need for software if you are willing to use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to transfer songs to your Zen. You can do this by upgrading the firmware to version 2.21.02. Same location as I mentioned above.

Can't transfer songs onto my mp3 player

Some types of mp3 files won't transfer to Creative Zen players. Try re-encoding the files either again in mp3 or in wma and try importing them again.
