Question about KitchenAid KHHS179L Convection/Microwave Oven
The microwave portion of the dual ovens simply beeps three times when you try to turn it on. all oven functions work fine. Am told I need to replace the processor board. I was quated around $800-1000 to get the repair made. I've looked at it and it seems it simply is turning off the power, removing four (or six) screws and replugging in a number of wires. I've seen the board available online for around $370-400. Is this really this simple and is it something that a somewhat handy lay-person can do?
Is there any fault code shown on the display?
We actually repair control boards for customers nationwide with our guaranteed $39.95 service.
If you do really need a new one, it's not hard to replace yourself.
Be sure to unplug it from the wall first.
Sometimes the trickiest part is unplugging the keypad strip without breaking the locking hood on the connector.
Simply place a thumb and forefinger on each end and gently lift up on the locking hood and then lift the strip out.
