Question about Acer Aspire 5500 5570-2609 Laptop

Acer laptop (aspire 5570z series) won't charge/turn on

My laptop doesn't turn on anymore. At first it was just having problem s charging, but now it won't charge at all. So now that the battery is dead, it won't come on at all (even if u take the battery out and try to just run t eh laptop on just the outlet). It seems that a componenet in the side of the laptop that feeds the power to the battery (or the laptop itself when the battery is remove) is malfuctioning. I was told it would be cheaper to just get a new laptop than fix it. That would really be a drag. Anyone know if i can fix it or if maybe Acer has a product that I can charge the battery by itself (externally) and then hoefully put the battery back in and power the comp?

My laptop won't even turn on. When I plug it in with or without the battery, the front green charge light comes on but no response to pressing "power on".

My acer notebook have the same problem. It is not charging the battery anymore. I had tested the voltage on the motherboard, it is giving me 19.5V on the jack (backside), and on pins 2 to 5 (I guess) on the connector to the motherboard when the circuit is separated from motherboard. When I put it in its place, the voltage goes to 1,7V~2,4V, and the motherboard remain dead. I tested the power supply and it is good. It seems that some component is in short to ground, but no component is overheating (they are all very cold).

I don´t want to buy a new NB, if anyone has the answer, please tell us.

I went to the store where I originally bought the laptop less than a year ago, and with much time wasted, they decided it was the battery that was the cause of my troubles. Well I came back home and took a look at it myself- turns out the pin where you plug it in is loose. My dad said he'd want to fix it himself- I've searched the internet and so far I've come up with the solution that it needs soldering to tighten it. (It would be a LOT of trouble to send it out, as Acer suggested, to the US and get it back- and I have high doubts that I would actually receive it back in time for school). Anyone have any idea how to open the laptop without damaging it- an informational websites, perhaps with pictures to aid the process. (My dad's a little apprehensive to open it himself because if he damages it, and worse comes to worse, if I do have to send it to Acer, we worry they won't fix it).I guess until I find a better solution I will continue to plug and pull the cable at different angles / propping it up with other household objects. Had I known this was this common a problem, Acer would not have been the route I'd have taken.

Computer went off while surfing the web. Can't get it to power back up. When we try the power and battery lights both blink (yellow) a couple of times and then go back out. The power cord light is green, as always. Could it be the battery? Can you wear a battery out by leaving the laptop connected to the power cord after it has been fully charged?

I have the same piece a junk, the poor design of the power conector allows the barely soldered center pin to come out with the charging conector, mine lasted about a year,it was tight when it was new, have always been very careful with it and it still broke ,what a joke ,If you pull the pin out of the conector slightly then put it in slowly until you see the charge light go on in front of the computer,it wil charge

Junk it as I did. Not worth the effort and money. When the first one broke they told me $400 to fix it. Get a Dell!

Your pproblem lies within the power management chip located on the motherboard. The motherboard needs to be replaced. Besides replacing the laptop, your other (cheapest)option is checking Ebay for a motherboard for your machine. If you have the patience, I recomend watching Ebay and bidding at the price you want to pay, eventually you'll get the bid.

Battery won't Charge

Hello, If the battery won't charge and the laptop won't turn on but the ac adapter works with other laptops, then the problem is the port where you plugin the ac adapter. Some of the laptops has it built in to the motherboard. So you might need to have it repaired by a technician. Or if the laptop is still in warranty, you might need to send it to the manufacturer to have it repaired or replaced. But if the laptop works without the battery, or it will turn on but the battery indicator is not lighting up, you're facing one of these problems.
1. The battery itself is dead.
2. the battery bay is loose
3. the battery itself is loose

Hope this helps

Will a laptop battery become damaged if you use the computer while it is plugged in? I do a lot of photo editing, and leave the computer plugged in for long periods of time, so that it doesn't di

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.
Laptop batteries vary from laptop to laptop. i suggest you Google the Internet for a battery for your model laptop.

T will indicate charging but it won't charge actor

If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the batteryis not charging, then the battery is dead.

To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let thelatop run for 10 minutes or so.

To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in andremove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is deadand needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.

Laptop Battery Won T Charge on a laptop dell inspiron 1525

Battery could be dead and won't hold another charge. Batteries only last for so long until you have to replace them. If you laptop is ok with the AC Adapter & Power Cord meaning it boots and allows you to work in windows, then the battery is definitely dead.

Battery is fully charged, but netbook won't turn on unless plugged in.

I would say that you definitely need to purchase a new netbook battery. If it's only turning on when plugged in, then the battery itself doesn't have any more charge cycles.
