Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
Verizon Modem and Direct Connect desktop okay. Wireless Router connected to modem and desktop connected to router. The desktop works okay, but there is no wireless signal available. It gives an 'error 255'.
The first thing I would recommend is to reset the router to its factory defaults. Then reconfigure it according to your Verizon settings.
There are a number of things you need to set, in order for the router to be able to talk to Verizon correctly. These things such as dns name servers, the ip address you connect to (whether it is static or dynamic), and things of this nature. They should have given you all of this information, and if they did not you will need to contact them first or you will not be successful in connecting.
To be more specific regarding the error message, I need to know the specific model you have as well as the version of the software.
If you need additional help just post another question here and it will notify me that you have.
