I had the same problem. Mine wouldnt do anything. My brother took the back off and moved some of the wires around. It came on and worked. He said it was`either the wires were loose or there was to much pressure on the battery. hope this help.
My problem is also similar to these, but when i hit the reset button it will come on and work, but after i turn it off the keypad will not go off (it will continue to glow red) and the player will not come back on unless i hit the reset button. i only had it for about 2 weeks before it broke.

I didn't have a problem accessing the flash memory of my Coby mp4 until I upgraded to Media Player 11. Now it recognizes the coby for what it is, but I can't explore the flash memory like I used to. It used to recognize it as another drive, now it shows up as a portable media device. Do I have to go back to MP10 to get it back or is there another way?
These players are plagued with problems! I have the 2gb version which does the same thing. I gave up on trying to use its internal battery and bought a usb charging cord for use in my car. I just unplug the cord from the cig lighter socket when I'm done using it. If it doesn't shut off, which is 99.9 percent of the time, then it just runs its battery down until it finally shuts off. It's a shame this player doesn't work as good as it looks...
