Need the manual for Westinghouse tx-47f430s LCD TV

You can go to this site and view or download the manual for free. Be careful as there are ads on the page which look like the download link but are not. You want to click the yellow owl that says "Download for Free". You then have to enter some security text and your download will start. I have tried it and it works.

Picture is too wide to fit screen can not see complete picture

hi there, i don't know your TV brand but this could be of help anyway. there is an adjustment for horizontal and vertical width. you can manually adjust the setting until it fits the picture on the screen. for standard TV it has trimmer in the CRT board. If in your case you have a soft adjustment in the remote control try to adjust it. Learn how the menu works just look for the picture adjustment.
Good luck, please rate and vote.

32" LCD tv w/built in DVD mounted on wall. screen will not hold picture - looks like vertical or horizontal hold needs adjusting, but cannot figure out how to adjust. happens when using DVD or VGA...

Vertical and horizontal adjust went out with black and white TV pretty much.I remember those days too...what would kids nowadays do???lol.Anyhow, the fact that it clears up sometimes when you slap it should mean that the screen is fine.Something on the circuit board may need repair.Unfortunately,I have searched for diagrams for TV's online many times and only authorized shops have the access required.I just checked westinghouse, not even a way to sign in if I were a reapir shop. So,needless to say, a shop will have to check it out.Sorry That's all I can suggest and good luck!

Above is a manual link. usually you use multiple presses on the buttons to get to the menus. One button, is menu, the others are for up.down & left/Right. The same as for Horz Posn. You press the menu, use the L/R buttons to go to the menu item, then up and down to + or - the setting.
have a look at the manual.

I'm trying to hook up my westinghouse 32" LCD SK-32H570D tv. When I push power, I get the "W" logo, but then I can't get it to go to the startup menu. Neither the Menu button on the TV itself, nor the one...

Hello, there can be a few things wrong, it sounds like you might have a defective set as the inverter that powers up the backlight on this unit is on the same board as the power board, this normally will cause symptoms of powering up but not displaying a picture. If you are looking for parts you can find them at parts@wde.com but it sounds like you just purchased the unit so I would call their customer service line at 1800-701-0680.

4.14.1 Understanding Viewing Features
Your LCD HDTV features four viewing modes and Picture-In-Picture (PIP)/Picture-by-Picture (POP) mode.
You can switch viewing modes using the remote control.
4.14.2 Viewing Modes
Normal Mode
The original 4:3 aspect ratio (1.33:1 source) is preserved, so black bars are
added to the left and right of the display image. Standard TV broadcasts are
displayed with a 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Movies in 4:3 Aspect Ratio may be referred
to as pan-and-scan or full frame. These movies were originally filmed in 16:9
(widescreen), and then modified to fit a traditional TV screen (4:3).
Wide Mode
When watching a standard broadcast or full-frame movie in this mode,
the display image is stretched proportionately to fill the TV screen.
When watching a widescreen (1.78:1 source) program or movie, the
display image fills the TV screen. If you are watching a widescreen
(1.85:1 or 2.35:1 source) program or movie, there will still be black
bars at the top and bottom.
Zoom Mode
When watching a widescreen (1.78:1, 1.85:1, or 2.35:1 source)
program or movie, the display image is zoomed proportionally to fill the
width of the screen. The top and bottom are cut off to remove most of
the source material’s black bars. This mode is good for programs or
movies with sub-titles.
Panoramic Mode
When watching a standard broadcast or full frame movie in this mode,
the 4:3 Aspect Ratio (1.33:1 source) display image is stretched
horizontally on the left and right sides to fill the TV screen. The center
of the image is not stretched.

Note: Viewing modes are saved based on input. For example, you lasted watched a DVD in widescreen
mode and then watched TV in standard mode. When you switch back to DVD input, the viewing mode
will return to widescreen.
