SOURCE: Delonghi ESM465ST Oven Noisy Fan

If it is a fan assisted oven, then you are likely to have 2 fans, an external cooling fan, and a fan inside the oven for ciculating the hot air.
So to answer your query, yes it is a noisy fan you are going to have to establish which fan.
It could be a worn bearing, or the fan blade has come loose.
If it is a worn bearing, thge only cure is a new fan.
Hope this helps with your problem.

Testimonial: "Thank you for that. It's noisy even when the fan inside the oven isn't running (ie, just on convection) so guess that means it's the external fan?"

SOURCE: Delonghi ESM465ST Oven Noisy Fan

I had this on my cooker a few months ago. I took the hob off, (quite time consuming, but not difficult) and found the long fan. Atfer needlessly removing the fan, I found one of the spindals/axles had come out and the fan was unsupported. I just puched it back in and it's been fine since.
Hope this helps.

Exhaust fan is hitting something while running

The fan blade shifted (moved) on the motor shaft. Take it apart (usually from the rear) and move the fan blade a 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch to clear the housing. Don't add oil to the shaft otherwise it will move again.

I have an AEG competence 5020 B fan oven (single) which has a very noisey fan, does this need a new motor and can I fix this myself?

ISOLATE THE MAINS POWER BEFORE OPENING THE REAR OF THE OVEN.
Remove the oven, open the back, remove the fan, and clean with WD40, afer the fan is dry, fit the fan back into the housing, replace back and put into cabinet, switch on low, if the fan makes a whirring noise, or unusual squeeking replace the fan, if however the fan sounds normal and good pressure when door is open, it should be okay. If you require a part go to whitegoods.co.uk
Hope this is helpful

I have a diplomat oven - i turned it on this afternoon and whilst the fan revolves there is no heat coming from it! i tried the grill and this works fine and heats up! what could the problem be pls??

It sounds like the oven element is blown and needs replacing. If the oven fan and the indicator light are coming on it will be the element or possibly a burnt off wire at the oven element terminals.

Oven making whirring noise when switched off

The back panel of the main oven houses the circulating fan. From experience, fat/grease/gunge accumulates and drips down the inside of the plate through the vents. This will then rub on the fan as it turns. There are four self tapping screws, one in each corner of the panel. Remove the screws and the panel will come off. That is the easy bit, getting rid of the grease is harder. Don't forget that the oven side of the panel is a stay clean and shouldn't be cleaned with anything abrasive. I use the Lakeland brush on oven cleaner on ALL the walls of the oven (even the Stay Clean) and it works a treat. It may take some time to disolve the residue and a couple of goes, but it does work.

Hi in there...high pitched grating whirring noise when i turn my oven on on any setting

It's probably coming from the fan in the oven.

It may be that an obstruction is hitting the fan blades or the bearings are gone.

Check visually to see if there is anything obvious but if not it will probably need a new fan.

FAN NOISE in convection mode, as in a loud whirring sound, suggesting a problem with the fan. Any one else experiencing this?

FAN NOISE IS NORMAL BUT IF ITS SQUEELING THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COOLING FAN. YOU DO HAVVE TO REMOVE THE OVEN FROM THE WALL TO REPLACE.

Convection oven making rattling sound.

It is most likeky that the fan bearing is worn and thus causing the rattling sound. You will probably need to replace the fan. Check first that there is no obstacle in the way of the fan rotating.

Replacement of the fan will require the back of the oven to be removed giving access to the fan unit, which will need to have the wires disconnected and the fan assembly unbolted. Fitting is the reverse.

Always remember to switch off the power before working on electrical equipment.
