Question about Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx GPS Receiver

Where are my geo caches?

I am pretty new to the use of Garmin GPSmap 60CSx but have used it to find a couple of geo caches near my home. We are going to Indiana this weekend so I loaded a few caches in Ohio that are on our way but I cant see them on my Garmin. At first it said "geocaches near you" so I deleted all of them thinking they were blocking me seeing more distant caches. Nope. Still cant see them.
Is there any way to see more distant caches? I want to be sure they are loaded before we depart.
Thanks
George

You can hit "menu" and then "find by name" and enter the name and you will see them there.

SOURCE: Garmin GPSmap 60CSx and geocaches

Search for them "by name" instead of "by nearest"

Find>waypoints>find>menu>enter>by name

Only the nearest 50 caches show up and then only if they are within 50 miles.

How to Transfer Maps to GPSmap 60csx

You have use the unlock wizard to install the key that is provided with the software. When I bought my Mapsource CitySelect, it came with two keys. The way Garmin does it is, you can install the software as many times as you want on as many machines as you want, but can transfer the maps, data, etc ONLY to unlocked devices. Last I checked Garmin wanted $75 for additional unlocks. Some data is not locked, like Topo maps and some tide points since this data is obtained (by Garmin) from the gov't, which is free for us (wel, minus taxes we pay). Contact Garmin support, they are very attentive.

I think all the Garmins allow to do is generate a waypoint list on your PC and upload THAT to the GPS, according to what Garmin told me about my Streetpilot C340. You also need Mapsource on the PC.

GPSmap 60Csx power up problems

I had the problem where I ended up disassembling the Garmin and adding a small piece of plastic to the on/off button. For some reason the push button on the top does not reach the one on the circuit board.
