There is power going to the washing machine but only sometimes the door lock indicater light turns on when the switch is on and the door is closed. The machine will work when the indicater is on and doesnt when its off even with the switch on and the door closed. Just wonder is it the door interlock switch faulty

Yes it could be the interlock.

power is passed through the interlock on to the rest of the machine. The actual latching shut of the door is a simple spring-loaded mechanism where the latch just slips into the door catch and the door stays closed. Locking the door is a separate process.

Hi ganyam,

More than likely the Timer / Electronic Board has blown, or one of its connections or component have blown.

You can either inspect the Board/Timer and see if you can replace the component or fix a dry joint. Or you can replace the Board/Timer.

It is common for an overload to send power through to an electronic board and burn it out.

F06 - Door lock fault
Issue: Washing machine door cannot be opened or closed/when the door is closed the machine the programme will not start.
Advice: If your washing machine door will not close, please check for any obstructions in the door lock.

Switch off the device. Disconnect power. Wait about 3 minutes.
Open the door, then close. Reconnect device to the network.
Start device.

Well its either the door interlock or the pcb behind the control panel....

What sometimes happens is that the door lock will blow the the pcb obard if there is an electrical short and if so you will need to replace both..

however sometimes its just the door interlock..

Hi, Does the door lock? Usually when you close the door it locks and allows the water to fill, then it starts the wash cycle. If when you close the door it does not fill, then it could be the door interlock which is at fault. Tom.
