Error says file: systemroot\system32\config\system

Can you boot into Safe Mode? Restart the computer and hit the F8 key continually until you get to the Advanced Boot options and choose Safe Mode. Here you can run System Restore. If you can't, then boot off of the Windows XP CD and get to the Recovery Console. Here you would type in chkdsk /f/r and hit enter. The Check Disk utility will try and fix any errors in the file system.

Stop:0x0000007B tried to boot in all modes..we go to blue screen with stop: cannot get a command prompt either

Issue : Blue screen with Error0x0000007B
Solution
I recognize the importance of resolving this issue and I look forward in providing you with the necessary assistance you need.

The above error comes if the boot volume is corrupted and cannot be initiated by Windows XP. or You are installing Windows XP on a mirrored boot partition that was created by Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.

To completely resolve your issue i think you have to reinstall the OS.
Have to format the Hard drive

requirement
the OS - XP Home / Premium Installation CD

Disk formatting is the initial part of the process for preparing a hard disk or other storage medium for its first use. The disk formatting includes setting up an empty file system. A disk formatting may setup multiple file systems by formatting partitions for each file system.

you need bootable windows disk or recovery disk.
Then set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.
when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios then go to boot option then save settings.
thenh put cd in cd /dvd rom then it boot with disk.
Then it load some file wait for 5-7 minutes then it gives screen then press enter.

I was installing Turbo Tax 2008 and Windows XP crashed

Madam/Sir --

I none of the mode is working you need to boot from the cd to do any further steps.
inorder to boot from the cd you need to go to the bios and change the boot sequence to boot order.
It varies system to system once to you boot from the cd try to log on to recovery console and do a manual system restore by following the below steps - :
Step 1:
***************************

Boot with the windows XP CD

At "Welcome to setup screen" Press R

Select the appropriate path for windows and press enter
If it asks you for the administrator password, normaly there is not password but if you have a password type the administrator password and
press enter or just hit enter

We will now see the Prompt c:\windows>

Step 2:
***************************
cd system32\config

ren system system.old
ren software software.old
ren SAM SAM.old
ren security security.old
ren default default.old

Then type cd Type cd system~1\_resto~1 and press Enter

If you get "access denied" (Error) then

Restart the computer by type Exit and get back to recovery console

type cd \ and it will display C:\>
type cd system~1\_resto~1 and press Enter

Step 3:
***************************
Type dir
It will list you restore points
(e.g. RP1, RP2, RP3, RP4, etc...)

Select the one from the list except the last one
Say RP4

· type cd RP3 (or RP2 or RP1 or RPn) and enter

· type cd snapshot and enter

· type copy _registry_user_.default c:\windows\system32\config\default and enter

· type copy _registry_machine_security c:\windows\system32\config\security and
enter

· type copy _registry_machine_software c:\windows\system32\config\software and
enter

· type copy _registry_machine_system c:\windows\system32\config\system and enter

· type copy _registry_machine_sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam and enter

· type exit and enter

The computer restarts and the system will be
Successfully restored

I have deleted svchost.exe from windows xp

To complete part one, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Windows XP startup disk into the floppy disk drive, or insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.
Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted to do so.
  2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  3. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
  4. When you are prompted to do so, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
  5. At the Recovery Console command prompt, type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line: md tmp
    copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
    copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak
    copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
    copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak
    copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bak

    delete c:\windows\system32\config\system
    delete c:\windows\system32\config\software
    delete c:\windows\system32\config\sam
    delete c:\windows\system32\config\security
    delete c:\windows\system32\config\default

    copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system
    copy c:\windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
    copy c:\windows\repair\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
    copy c:\windows\repair\security c:\windows\system32\config\security
    copy c:\windows\repair\default c:\windows\system32\config\default

Go to dos command when there is a problem in booting

Hopefully you are using Windows XP. For fixing it up you need Windows CD and a CDROM Drive of your computer. Set First Boot Device to CDROM and Boot your computer using windows xp cd. Let the cd load all the drivers and when welcome screen comes. press "R" to enter recovery console.
Here it will search the operating systems located on your disk and a list will appear. Choose the Correct Location and enter administrator password. Copy NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM from I386 Folder on the CD to C:\(assuming C:\ is your BOOT Drive). It will ask you to overwrite, say "y". Run "chkdsk /p" to verify drive integrity. To verify boot.ini config type "Bootcfg /list" on the prompt. After Completing this type exit. Your System will reboot.
