Question about Maytag Dryers
It doesn't work at all
If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?
Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint.

The F26 indicates a door switch failure which means the control doesn't see the door is open or shut and this is why you can't start a cycle.
Make sure the door is shut all the way and try another cycle but most likely this error indicates a failure of the door switch or a loose connection at the door switch or control. The first image below shows you how to remove the top of the washer and the connections on the main control that should be checked. You should push-pull the connections and make sure there tight on the control. The control is located on the right hand side towards the back.
If the connections are all tight then checking the circuits with a volt/ohm meter would be next. The image below will help you ohm the circuits if you have a meter and are comfortable using it. Remember to unplug the washer first.
The door latch assembly is most likely the cause of the problem but it's more difficult to access than the control. The 2nd image shows how to access the door lock switch to check connections and/or replace.
All parts come with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.
