When we run copies the first 2 to 4 copies are good then we lose copy quality. Down to a blank page. Techs have been out and replaced the developer, however, it did not fix the problem. They said something about a charge unit or board.

Tell the tech to check the charge unit; if the corotron wire is black it must be replaced; if not he will have to test your machine with a new board.

Canon ir5000 copies have horizonal bands of light copy quality. How do I get even, good quality down the entire page?

The machine probably needs a service paying attention to the development and the cleaning areas. Also, clean or replace the corona wires and check that there is no flat spots on the fuser roller.

How to reset pcu correctly

Cant remember if these models use the rebuildable pcus or not.
If it does:
change the developer / blade / charge roller/brush and drum if needed then run the TD initilization .
If copy quality is good then you can run td ini without changing those parts and just replace them at failure.

If it doent:
Change the whole pcu
it will reset itself
or if copy quality is good run the td ini and the message will clear.

Gestetner DSC 232SP: I purchased this copier used and it had printing ok. My color copies are coming out horrible. they are displaying a white line in the same area on page after page. Even after I ran a...

The white line or lines are NOT caused by the fuser. A defect "line" in the fuser would cause the symtom of the print rubbing off the page but not blank lines on your copy. First we need to separate your copy quality issues. This machine uses 4 drums, 4 developer units and a transfer belt. Most copy quality issues will reside in 1 or more of these units. Lets start with a few questions. 1)Are your copy quality issues ONLY on color copies? or are the black and whites poor too? 2) Are you running copies only thru the document feeder or have you made any copies from the glass?
Are you printing on the copier from your computer?

Xerox Copycentre C123 Creating a Ghost Image

First place an original on glass and make a copy -- mark #1. With that same original on the glass, move the exposure all the way light and make a copy -- mark #2. Again with the same original on the glass, move the exposure all the way dark and make a copy --- mark #3. Place #1 in the middle so the the copies read --- #2, #1, #3. The #2 should be the lightest and #3 being the darkest. If #2 is darker than #3 you have a developer problem and you need to call for service. If #1 and #2 are bad and #3 is a good copy your machine probably just needs a good cleaning, mainly the optics and charge units. If all 3 copies are still poor with the speckles, your are looking at the PCU ( photo conductive unit) also called the drum unit. You can order this unit online -- it is a customer replaceable item.

Copier is not copying

possible broken charging wires (corona wires) (chargeing wire) no charge on the drum will not pull developer or broken (transfer wire) will not pull image off drum resulting in blank copy

It's probably happening because the cleaning blade on the drum needs to be changed or replaced.

Hello MR dricha

If the developer has been changed.  You need to go into service mode to calibrate it before you print.  If you don't run the program and you make copies, copy quality will change and you may have to replace the developer again.
Once it is replaced go into service mode and issue the service code to calibrate the developer.
If you haven't replaced the developer yet, you should.

KONICA 7020 - Blank copy

I have never heard of a developer moving backwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???
the motor that runs it, the .... there is too much involved to mention. A developper moving backwards will spill so much toner in the machine anyway.
If you get a copy and then it goes blank, that tells me you have a problem with the SEPERATION UNIT, it may be shorting out causing the paper to rise against the drum giving you blank copies.
A blurr copy tells me there is a problem with the Scanner/Optics area. maybe the rails that the scanner run on are too dry or has a problem, the optics(mirrors) may be misaligned.
Not sure what you mean by (hanging) ??
