They are an extension of your hard drive. Use them like you would a CD or diskette. You can have as many as you like. Ideally you just plug them in to a USB port and within a few seconds the system recognizes them and gives them a new drive letter (F:?). You can then open them, move files to them, read, write delete files on them.

The big advantage to Flash Drives is that they are virtually indestructable. I put my vital backups on mine every weekend and store it around my neck or away from the system that it is backing up.

Today, people are more concious about their identity. If you have ever lost your identity then you will understand. I scanned my SS card, birth certificate, driver's license (front and back), passport and a recent utility bill. Moved these files to my flash (thumb drive) and then passworded them. Now, if I ever loose these vital documents (fire, flood, earthquake) I can recover them in a very short period of time to prove my identity. A subset, unpassworded, might be important to also keep on this in case of a car accident or medical emergency so someone else can notify doctors, etc.

I wouldn't be without one now and everyone in my family has several.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

There is little point in posting a question with no real information.
Saying something is "broke", "doesn't work", "can't connect" or that you "need" or "want
something" is pointless without ALL the information.
What actual products are you using? Makes, models, connections...everything about your
problem is necessary. We are not there with you. We cannot see what is obvious to you. Most
problems occur when you try to get something to work with something else. We need to know
all the things you are using and doing that ends with your issue.
The issue is the last thing we need not the only thing.
If you did something silly, then tell us. We aren't going to laugh at you, we want to help you. In
all likelihood we did something similar and so we know if it can be fixed.
If you hope that by lying about the situation we will be able to fix your issue, you are WRONG.
If you are trying to do something illegal we know about that too.
We want to help you. We do not get paid for our work. We do it because we want to share our

If you do not post complete information, most likely your question will go unanswered, so you

Hi Patrick,

ATA and SATA are basically the same. The SATA drives won't work with the machines that are designed for IDE, so you're stuck with IDE on the I-series. Check out pricewatch.com for buying hard drives. You'll be able to get them for half the price Bestbuy sells them for.

I'm not sure what's involved in getting the fingerprint device to work, if it's just a driver or a combination of driver and software. I've never worked with or had one before. I'll look into it. Have you read any of the forums at IBM's support site on this?

I cannot access western digital 1000 gb

Here is a tedious solution that works. Use MioNet and move all the files you want to keep to another drive or another computer, then delete everything from the MyBookWorld. Remove MioNet from all computers. Next access the drive's built in Shared Storage Manager with a web browser. Check the pdf manual on the install disk to find out how. Create a new shared folder and then move everything you want on the drive into the new folder WITHOUT using MioNet. Map the shared folder as a network drive for easy access. Never, ever, EVER use MioNet again and all should be good. The drive works, the MioNet software does not.
