Question about Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White

1 Answer

Oven clean 'dr', F9, door lock flashing

I tried to start the self cleaning. Evidently from what I am reading the lock mechanism must be broken. I can hear it trying to work/grinding, but it does not lock. Well, I just want to forget about cleaning and bake some cookies and now I cannot get it to quit going thru this cycle. We unplugged it for about 10 mins and plugged back in and it did not work. Thoughts?

The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

This is a Door lock malfunction. you will need to replace the door lock mechanism. it is faulty.

Test the door lock mech for its operational value to be sure.if the door mech test is good, replace the control(ERC/Clock)

The lock switch is on and door is open-"dr" then "f9" message

Unplug the range and then have someone hold in the door/light button while plugging in the unit again. The locking mechanism should reset itself. Let me know if I can help further.

Oven door cannot unlock

I know this response is a bit dated, but I just had the same problem. I removed the back panel. There is a little motor that turns the locking mechanism. I removed that and there is a button on a sensor next to the motor. I turned off the power first, since 220 can kill. Then when everything was sorted out, i turned the power back on, hit the switch on the sensor and everything is back to normal. I also made sure that the lock in front was back at 12 o'clock (the L shaped piece at the top of the door, but on the stove),. It worked for us. Good luck.
