Question about Samsung LN-R268W 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
I have a Samsung Model: HP-R4262 42" Plasma. 2.5 years old. Recently I began to noticing a light pink area of shimmer or ghost imaging on portions of the screen showing bight/white or bright/blue images. Especially when watching sports in HD. The pink shimmering or pool of color does not stay in one place and only starts to appear after the TV is on for an hour or so. Is this overheating? I cannot find anything on the net referencing this problem.
Wow, I've been an installer and salesman in the consumer electronics industry since before the first plasma TV came out (Phillips 42" and Fujitsu 42" in 1996) and this is the first time I've ever seen that kind of an answer. "Take this to a repairman and he can add more plasma" what is the repairman a doctor. If it were that easy no one would ever have to upgrade or replace their screens. You can't add more plasma to a screen, if you don't believe me call Samsung and ask them for yourself like I did. I was actually so dumbfounded by your answer that I called a tech friend of mine at Samsung and asked him, his answer; "does this guy work for you?" I told him no and he said, "I was going to tell you to fire him because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone tell a customer".
What you need to do is take you plasma TV to an AUTHORIZED Samsung dealer/repair shop and inquire about the hazing/ghosting problem with them. Onece the plasma heats up it shrinks a little, i think the cause is that you are low on plasma, so when i heats it shrinks and since the plasma cycles, the area low on plasma wil move slowly around the screen, take this to a repairman and more plasma can be added to it.
