can I get a new sd card without going through all that stuff? I am not a tehno.!

I had the same problem. Instead of whiping out the whole flash card and formatting all that fun stuff... I just opened the files. The ini file on the disk contains a location to the map files. I should look for the exact names but all you have to do is copy over that line of code from the disk file into the smart card ini file. Its much easier and doesn't whipe out all your current locations. Now the voice comes on and everything works great.

From Delphi tech support:

NAV200 SD Card Reformat

Problem:

Customer reports that the NAV200 has lost its voice prompts and/or constantly reads NEW ROUTE.

Solution:

Reformat SD card from FAT-32 to FAT. And replace files on SD card with back up files from DVD-ROM.

Reason for Problem:

The navlib.ini file located in the navigation files (in mnav) is missing from the SD card. It is located in mnav in the back up files found on the DVD-ROM

My Gamin Nuvi can't unlock maps

Use a Garmin 1450

The Garmin Nuvi 1450 can be used while driving or walking.

While driving, use the Nuvi 1450 to create a route to your destination and get step-by-step directions, to hear the names of upcoming streets, to tell you when to change lanes and to find out the speed limits on unfamiliar streets.

As a pedestrian, you can have the Nuvi 1450 create a route for you that uses a mixture of walking and public transportation, such as the subway or bus system, if you have purchased cityXplorer maps for that area.

Tap "Where to?" to set up a route. The "Where to?" icon is a large magnifying glass.

Tap "Addresses." The available categories are address, points of interest, go home, recently found, favorites and intersections.

Input the name of the state or county, if it is out of town.

Then tap "Spell city." Spell out the name of the city using the pop up keyboard.

Press "Done."

Enter the address number and press "Done."

Then enter the street name and press "Done."

The "Go" screen opens automatically.

Tap the green "Go" button. The Nuvi 1450 will now calculate a route to the address.

Follow the voice prompts and map highlight to your destination.

Navigate Using Coordinates

Tap "Where to?" and then tap "Coordinates."

Tap the coordinate you want to adjust/input a new coordinate.

Tap "Format" to choose the right coordinate format for the map you are using.

Enter the coordinates. Tap "Next."

Tap the green "Go" button to calculate a route.

Use the Map Page

Navigate to your destination by following the voice prompts, highlighted route on the map and directions located at the top of the map screen.
Tap the "turn" icon located in the upper left corner of the screen to see the next turn. It may have a turning or straight arrow and the number of miles until the turn. Tap the bar across the top with the next direction listed on it to see a list of all directions.

Tap the plus or minus signs on the right side of the screen to zoom in or out.

Press the spinning arrow in the lower left corner of the screen to return to the main menu.

Tap the "car" icon traveling along the highlighted route to enter the "Where Am I?" screen and get your exact location, coordinates and nearby emergency services.

Hope this helps

Tomtomworks but no sound

There could be 2 reasons: 1: Sound is muted. Solution: Tap on the screen. Tap change preferences. If you see a green square with "Turn on sound", tap on it. If it is a red Turn off sound, try the next solution.
2. Sound is kept very low. Solution: There is a volume slider bar. Generally it should be on the bottom left hand corner. It you touch the area where "no route planned " is shown, the volume bar pops out. Rub/Slide your finger slowly from left to right. This will increase the volume.

Seems confused , uses the longest possible route, blurts out wrong directions which contradict previous directions, shuts down after 1.5 hours without an external power source. The unit is only about 2...

Each time you arrive at a destination, check the main menu. If [Stop] is still showing, push that before setting up a new route.
I had your symptoms once ... Had set up a route, and pushed detour several times. From that point on directions were inconsistent, until completely clearing the route, and starting over. Have never had the problem since.
If you live in a hot climate, or if the sun gets direct access to your GPS, the heat through windshield might damage your unit. Excess heat or cold will lower your battery life.

Stop a nav route

Once you pick your new destination, the unit will ask if you want to delete the previous destination. If you just want to delete the route, hit the menu button, go to destination, and it's the bottom right selection.
