Get a wiring plug kit. These are available at any Walmart. They are specific for your vehicle make and not the radio. Radio manufacturers typically use all of the same colors so this should be a matter of matching color to color straight forward. Double check this with yoru radio manufacturer schematic before applying power to the radio.
First you need to get a wire harness for the Chevy (check Ebay) then follow the wiring instruction inside the package on how to join the spliced wires togother. After joining the wires togother plug the harness in and stuck the JVC into the recess where the old stereo was and thats it, it should play if not you don`t have a good ground, ground the body to the frame.
your jvc is pretty standard on hook ups.red wire is on a keyed power wire, black is chasis ground, blue is remote wire to amp.yellow also keyed power wire.speaker wires there will be 8,usually whit violet so on. white solid for exzamle is + white with black stripe is - you can figure out front and rear with an old speaker and buy fading front to rear on your head unit youll know front and rears.same for left and right.did you look on the unit usually the have the wiring diagram on the unit itself.mine all do
Your headunit is getting constant power (yellow wire). You most likely have no switched power (acc red wire). You can be certain by testing the red wire w/ a 12 volt test light when your ignition is on. If there is no power to this wire then you probably have a blown fuse. The radio fuse should be a 10amp fuse located in the drivers kick panel.
If the original connector and wires are not messed up and your doing a direct replacement of your Factory Radio, your in good shape. Go to Best buy and get you and adpater to go from 2000 neon. If you have the one that direct couples and leaves wires to terminate to the JVC, then you will have to hook up by standard hookup colors. And it should be color to color from JVC to the Adapter cable. If your still have trouble, leave another comment here and I will get an alert to check in on you.
