Question about Jensen VM9511TS AM/FM/CD/DVD/SD Player/7" LCD Car Video Player

Jensen vm9511ts cuts out

Im good with wiring and such usually but this one bugs me a lot. i had the unit playing fine the other day, while i was working on some other things in the car the unit was still sitting on passenger seat waiting to be installed in the dash and it would not skip, cut out or anything worked perfect. Well i put the unit in last night and i drove around and now the sound just cuts out at random times, more around taking turns usually. The screen stays on, no pauses on the cd or skips, the sound just dies and if i give the unit a tap it will start playing again no problem, just wondering what to look for when i take it apart again later? like bad gorund or recheck spekears? i have everything taped up and harnessed together so im gonna be mad to disassemble it all. any help is welcomed!

It sounds like the phone mute is going on and off, but I'm just guessing because I don't know your grounds, speaker wire hookup configuration, etc. Look at the screen when the music cuts off and goes back on and if you see a little red phone with the cross through speaker symbol (aka mute) it's probably the phone mute feature which is supposed to be hooked up to bluetooth and mute the stereo when you get a call. Like I said I'm just guessing, but if so there's a brown wire in the back that needs to be hooked up.

INSTALL JENSEN RADIO vm9511ts

There should be a label with all the wiring on the player/radio itself.

Yellow goes directly to battery to hold memory
Red is for ignition switch to power on
Black is ground
Blue is not used unless you are power an amp or other accessory.

All other wires are for speaker wires.

You can get a quick connect harness so you don't have to cut your factor vehicle wiring. If you did do this already, you can go to installer.com to find out which wire is for what.

I dont know were the ignition wire is im trying to hook up a jensen cd player to my 1998 nissan sentra

Ignition wire is any switched lead that is off when the key is off.
In a 1998 Sentra, the wire behind the radio that is a switched power lead is BLUE.

Double check with test light or voltmeter.

Jensen cd stereo

I have a similar problem with a Rockford Fosgate MP3 deck. Mine will get FM just fine (about half the time) when you first start the car, but over the course of a few minutes, the signal will break down until there is nothing. The other half of the time, nothing from startup on. Try this, at least; pull the unit and make sure the antenna is hooked up and secure. If that's not the problem, I haven't been able to find anything else, but a few other report the same thing. It might just be time to buy a new unit.

Remove the unit and bench test it. Sound like you have a loose power wire. Goodluck.

Jensen VM9511TS... Problem

Try a hard reset. If you look on the face of the unit, you will see a little pinhole located on the lower right side, stick a paper clip in there and hold in until the system reboots itself, this should be done while on.

I don't think there is one available yet, you could check the local stereo shops. They would be the first to know. Goodluck.
