I suggest you uninstall Norton - it's nothing but trouble. Whenever I get a machine to service, the first thing I do is dump Norton if it''s in there. The best antivirus is AVG and it's free! You can go to www.free.grisoft.com and download it.

Is your mouse USB? If so, try a PS/2 one instead (at least till you get rid of Norton). You'll have to attach it before you start the computer.

A PS/2 mouse will almost certainly work. Buy or borrow one (a used one shouldn't be more than a buck or two). When Norton's gone, your USB should return.

Don't worry, Knuths. I can certainly help you download the latest version of Norton 360 onto your computer. Please click on the link www.norton.com/n360s_5 to download the latest version of Norton 360. Please run the downloaded file and follow the simple installation steps. Once the installation is complete, it will ask you for a product key. Copy and paste your product key from your Norton account. You can access your Norton account from the link www.mynortonaccount.com

My Logitech LX3 optical mouse has stopped working completely. If there is a battery in it where the heck is it? I don't see anywhere on the mouse where a battery could fit in it. Please help! Francine

The LX3 is a wired USB mouse so it doesn't have a battery. So the next issue: is the mouse plugged in directly to the computer or into a USB hub? Try changing the port that you have the mouse connected. Check that the USB ports are active (not disabled for power savings or security) For Windows, the first is under the Advanced settings for the Screen Saver. The second is in the device manager. Try the mouse on another computer if possible. Try a different mouse on the computer. Check if other USB ports work with known working devices. For a Windows machine, you might try uninstalling the USB device and then reinstalling the drivers after a reboot. For laptops, try resetting the unit. On my HP laptop, I lost all USB devices at once for a part of the day. In that case, unplugging the AC charger and removing the battery was required to recover the USB ports.

If you have an older OS, make sure the drivers are installed. (This mouse is not compatible with Windows 95.) If you use a USB to PS/2 adapter, try a USB port and reboot the computer.

Wired mice frequently get damaged cables so I'd recommend replacing it. There was a 5 year warranty on the mouse when purchased new.

I hope this helps.

I was used norton 360 so what is the problem if i down load avira

The problem is that you cant have 2 antivirus sofware running at the same time. Also Norton 360 will ERASE Avira just so their own antivirus will properly work. If you want them to work together and not at the same time beacause it can make the pc lock up, you can install 360 first then (hopefully) your Avira installation will not erase 360 when you install it. If this does not work, then you have to choose which to go on. If you trust Avira, then use it

If you Trust Norton 360 then you cant install Avira

Hope this helps

After rebooting my cpu my mouse stopped working. My cpu does not recognize my mouse? The mouse works because i tried it on a different cpu. what can be causing this?

Did you try to reboot?
Do you have an optical mouse? (if yes: is the red light on?
(Then the mouse is recognized and you must configure your mouse options)
Did you try to connect your USB mouse to another connector?
Or if PS2 connector: Turn of the pc and connect the mouse and power on.
Did you install a new driver? (then uninstall this driver)
Try looking for the most recent mouse driver on the manufacturer site.

Computer won't recognize the Canon powershot A570IS

Norton antivirus or antispam maybe thinking your driver is a virus so it is disabling it and prevent it from working correctly. In order to be sure, disable your norton 360. and reinstall the drivers for your canon. If it worked correctly, the problem is 100% from norton 360.

In this case you have to call canon and norton tech support to help you.

Before you call tech support, try change the security level to a lower setting and try again

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you figure out your KVM?

if you tried to connect your mouse to the keyboard port and still it doesn't work. Power cycle meaning unplug the KVM from the CPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Then wait for about 30seconds before reconnecting again. If you still encounter the same problem that the keyboard port won't work then it means that keyboard port is defective. Replace it.
