Either the headphone socket has poor contacts or you have a dry joint on the audio board. Resolder the components that are mounted on heatsinks.
Hope that fixes your TV.

I have an alba 32inch tv and the sound keeps turning off we have to then switch tell off for a minute to get sound back but the sound is gone again in 5 min only 2 years old

sound like there is a over heat / or failure of some circuits

32 inch are quite cheap now, so it maybe something you should re-place,

or flog to a 2nd hand shop if it last long enough to sell during test

When lg lcd 32inch tv is cold, there are lines from left to the middle of the screen. When it warms the lines are gone, when you tap on the side panel it comes back and go away again. Pls help.

There is a loose contact to the flat cable {LVDS} cable, that connects the T'Con board to panel. Check it. Re-seat this cable once at both ends and check. This must rectify the problem. For more information go to http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Hi. I have an ALBA LCD32880HDF television which I purchased in August 2009 so just outside warrenty. I have been on holiday for a week and had switched the television off at the wall and returned home...

hi all the black screen solution for me was this (this is assuming you have alba brand tvs and have the black screen BUT can still hear the sound) i after much fekkin around with it eventually found the solution in it (its the bloody backlight brightness in the settings you need to turn it from high TO LOW) ....... now this can be a bit tricky because usually when you have the black screen problem if u unplug the tv for a few hours and plug it back in you only get or should get probably like 30-1min of picture time before the picture goes black so u have to be reallllly fast with the menu button to get into settings before the picture dies (i learned the sequence for my alba lcd32880hdf) it was the following (for this part use the remotes arrows the one with the ok button usually in the centre of them) turn the tv on then click menu then press the up key 2 times then press ok then use the right arrow/button twice (although u cant see what ur doing ur navigating the menu hehe) then press the down arrow/button seven times before finally pressing the left arrow/button (once) <-- (now this bit may need to be done twice if you can remember setting ur backlight to max use it twice it will put it on minimum if in doubt only press it the once remember to totally power the tv off before repeating the steps to reset menus default posistions) remember thats the solution i found for my tv stands to reason (since i did infact buy another tv same brand different model which got the same problem) that this could be a solution for all alba tv users try it worked for me 2 times if ur not sure of the menu look up you tv models menu navigation online to find out the buttons you press gl hopefully it works for you too

I bought an Alba CDVB4 and the remote isn't right

Hi

Not sure if you found the problem for this, but I had the same problem and couldn't find any reference to this except your question so thought I would put up an answer in case it can help you or anyone else.

Aparently, Alba have got hold of the codes that Toshiba use for their remote controls, so if you have a Toshiba telly an Alba product like this won't work. The only solution being to return it and get a different make.

I returned mine twice for a straight exchange thinking it was just a manufacture fault before I found this out. I then exchanged it for a Bush set top box - only a fiver more - and it now works PERFECT!

I hope this helps some.

Alba TV

I would suspect that the optical pickup is faulty. However Alba sets are manufactured in Albania therefore parts are not readily available.
