InDesign Printing problem; service error 49.4c02

This is a solution which has been suggested on another site, this has not been tested by myself so no promises.

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Remove all memory DIMMs or third-party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM in slot J1.)
3. Remove all EIO devices from the printer.
4. Turn the printer on.
5. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and back on as you install each device.
6. Replace a DIMM or EIO device if you determine that it causes the error.
7. Remember to reconnect all cables that connect the printer to the network or computer.
8. If the error persists, replace the firmware DIMM.

Hope it helps, as I said, not tested personally.

also may be the network card or formatter. my thoughts are that you should make sure you are using the pcl5 or 5e driver as opposed to the pcl6 or ps drivers. that is the most reliable driver code but lacks some of the bells and whistles of the pcl6. these may be things to test or check to help nail down your problem. also check to make sure the printer routing is correct in indesign.
