I bought a samsung fridge three years back. The problem now is that the whole of the freezer compartment is filled with ice crystals and i have tried to set the temperature to the minimum. And also the compartment below doesn't get any chillness even if it is set to near maximum

Here's a link to a great website that will help you understand what might be causing your freezer to have that ice build up. I could explain it here, but if you look at this link, they've already done a wonderful job.
Check and see if you have ice forming on the water tank if you have a water dispenser. The tank is usually behind the bottom drawer of the fridge compartment.
If you see ice then it is another sign that the defrost coil needs replacing. Samsung units are notorious for failing defrost coils.
Have a look here on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO2wDd16OkA
It shows where everything is. You can get a repair kit and it is relatively easy to replace - just take it slowly and you'll be fine!
Before any repairs are done, you will need to defrost the whole unit - switch it off for 2-3 days until there is no sign of ice.
Hope this is of some help
this fan needs to run when the compressor runs, check fan blade for being jammed by ice if you have this much ice on back wall as ice will stall motor,if no fan there will be no cool air to refrige compartment also the defrost drain tray will fill with water then freeze over which in turn floods the freezer floor and refrige compartments cause it cannot drain to the pan in the bottom
It's probablly caused by air leakage through the ice room fan electrical connection inside the freezer. Behind the back wall inside the freezer, the icd fan is the fan that blows air up to the in-door icemaker. The plug on that, into a molded plug on the back of the feezer compartment, is a red plastic part with three wires in it. Try filling in around the wires and the red plastic with a bit of silicone. (if you replace the ice room fan, the new plug comes with a rubber filler which seals this spot). (PS. Next time, avoid Sears)
There is an upgrade kit for the FAB40 to prevent ice build up which falls under the warranty for the FAB40. I've had it installed and it basically replaces the entire back of the inside of the freezer. Following the upgrade, my FAB40 would ice up completely, plugging the ducts to lead cold air to the fridge below. You can spot this syndrome by the water dripping throught the grate at the top of the fridge compartment. This is melted ice from the freezer ducts. SMEG has now sent their top guy, a drunk and pretty rude guy who replaced the whole backside again, and I'm hoping it will improve.
The bottom line is, SMEG is just ****. Very, very expensive ****. I invested about 10.000 dollars in SMEG equipment three years ago, and every single piece of machinery in my kitchen has broken and needed repair during that time. I deeply regret having bought stuff from them and next time I will definitely go with something different.
We have the same and I think it is because the freezer door bounces open when we shut the fridge door. Then the freezer compartment ices up, the fan clogs up with ice and cannot blow cold air into the fridge, and the fridge gets warm and the milk goes off.
Solution? We have bought one of those child safety clips (search for fridge safety clip or lock) to hold the freezer door closed.
Simple design error. Expected better from Bosch :-(
Try adjusting the levelers on the bottom I like to see 1/4 bubble on a level if you don't have a level no problem just so it slopes to the back. good luck Tom
You need to defrost the whole fridge and at the back in the freezer compartment you will c a small drainage hole.. look for it.. The get a piece of say hanger wire and clean this pour some hot water from a kettle down it and then start your fridge up again. that should sort your problem out ... if not then its either a sensor or a board fault...
