Thankfully I found this and one other posting... Turns out that Radio Shack is the solution for this, specifically, go & pick up 1 1/2" Communications-type Control Knob (2 per package) Radio Shack Part # 274-0402. It's set up for 1/4 inch shaft & has a set screw to hold it. Perfect fix afaic.

I would go to an ACE hardware or any other hardware store, bring in the old knob if you had it to find another that would match the shaft which it connects to, another place might be Radio Shack.

you tagged my solution as inappropriate, but that is where I have gone to get misc. knobs for things. Specifically Radio Shack (not trying to promote them, but they have what you need), the switch is a slightly different matter, but I'm sure you can find a switch there also, just make sure of two things:

    1) you know how to replace switches (may include soldering things). Important, since replacing something in a non-safe manner can cause a fire, or short something out.

    2) you feel comfortable in taking it apart and getting to the switch. If you are not comfortable, then either get another fan, or have an electrical shop fix it for you.

Where can I purchase a fan switch for weather works CH-V18 ?

How much do you know about wiring? I cannot locate a manual for this fan. It is a Chinese made 3 speed fan with a sparate speed control box. From pictures, the speed switch appears to be a rotary style switch which can be purchased from local hardware stores or on-line (Digikey). Pull the old switch out and search for a replacement. The import criteria is: voltage rating, amp rating, number of positions (speeds), knob shaft diameter and type.

Fan will not oscillate anymore. it makes a clicking noise like it's stuck

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
f the fan doesn't work at all, make sure power is on at the outlet, then test the power cord . Test the motor and replace it if it is faulty. Clean and test the speed-control switch and service it if it is faulty . If the fan works on only some speeds, clean and test the speed-control switch .
If an oscillating fan doesn't move from side to side, check the clutch knob, then the gear assembly. If the gear assembly is faulty, you can service it (see below).
If the fan blades turn slowly, check the blades for a loose hub and tighten if needed. If the fan shaft is noisy or dry, lubricate it.

I have 2 Hunter ceiling fans and the wall switch has 2 knobs which you push to click on or off.......after you click on...you can turn the knob and increase or decrease the fan speed. You can click on both...

Hello .. you should be able to find a replacement for your fan control at any building supply store, a home depot type store. Look or ask for a variable speed fan control. This is slightly different from a normal liight dimmer . You might also look for a replacement knob before replacing the whole switch, or matbe getting a replacement just to replace the knob ..

I need a pull chain DIMMER switch for my fan light. Only one set of wires supplies the fan and light. Surely SOMEBODY has a pull chain dimmer ??? Thanks. Bill

Bought three fans for the bedrooms, all hunters with pull chain dimmers. Less than one year and two of the three dimmers are shot. Can't find a replacement so I bypassed it. Remove light assembly and unplug 9pin connector. Remove black vented dimmer assembly by removing wire nuts and disconnecting the 2wire connector(black and white wires). Cut the 2wire connector off and save it in case you find a part someday. Wire nut black to black(hot) and white to white(neutral). You will disable the pull chain by wire nutting those two wires together.

Lakewood 16" Pedestal Fan- Control Switch gone bad (probably)-

I have seen a number of oscillating fans where the push-pull knob just pulls off. It will require a serious pulling effort - straight up. Do Not use any tools. You may have to have a helper hold the fan while you pull the knob.

After the knob comes off, push the shaft back down with your finger to allow it to clear the housing.
