I have a Phillips Rear Projection TV and when it is turned on, it has a hiss coming from the back. Is this dangerous? Is there a way to fix it?

The flyback transformer is most likley arcing. It is high voltage so eventually the set will shut down and not power up again untill the transformer is replaced. However those flybacks for that model are very hard to find.

My TV was snapping or arcing then no picture at

Sorry to hear this. What has happened is that CRT coolant has leaked from one or more CRT's down onto the Main bd and or the Power Supply bds and shorted them. You must replaced ALL three CRT's and the shorted Main bd and or the Power Supply boards. Then a Full Convergence Alignment must be done by a very good and experienced tech. Not cheap.

Won't power on

my d52w19 chassis itc222 as posted most of the time wont turn on and the green light flashes three times every time it makes a small noise. sometimes it does turn on and you hear a little pop and the tv fires up.  latley there is a really high pitch noise that will slightly change pitch if you move the tv or put slight pressure on the top or botttom rear part of the chassis. thanks for the help as I have seen that this has been posted before without mention of the high pitch noise.

No video, No sound, TV pops when you turn it on!?

you have high voltage arcing taking place ,poss tubes or flyback, splitter assy, focus block, you must try to pin point where or by what the arcing is taking place, safety first. unplug the unit and inspect for black burn spots on or near metal parts.

Arcing inside no picture

Most times arcing like this is from the Horiz. output transformer (flyback). The insulation has a break down and up to 30 KV will find the nearest path to ground. This would require a tech. to repair the unit. This repair will most likely cost around 250.00.

TV Turned off, now there is a clicking noise when plugged in.

had a 51" GE rear projection donated to myself. While off and power button pressed there was a clicking noise from the front of the unit. Rear cover was removed and it could be observed that the hv splitter had a crack in the casing and the power was arcing out of the splitter. I purchased a $72 dollar hv splitter, i read that the $20-$30 dollar one would break within a year, and the unit powered up no problems.
