Question about Pentax Optio S5i Digital Camera

LED BLACKED OUT

My S5i's LED went black, rendering the camera useless. Alll other functions seem to be working correctly.

  1. Check that the LCD monitor is "ON". Press the "display" button to turn monitor on (if "OFF).
  2. If your camera is connected to a TV, the LCD monitor may remain off. Disconnect the camera from the TV to regain your LCD picture.

Could be a problem with the CCD circuitry. You will need to get it serviced, I'm afraid.

Canon printer "ink absorber almost full"


I have used my mp470 for four years after useing this fix without a problem.

These are the instructions which worked for me on my Canon pixma mp470:

1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button three times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.) During initialization, the LED blinks in green.

4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)

5) Press the Power button. The LED lights in green, and the
selected function is performed. (When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically.)

6) Power off then back on and test.

Lens won't retract.


Due to the tight tolerances inside the lense mechanism - small bits of sand or lint may become trapped in the mechanics.

It is advised to take the camera to a camera repair shop and have it disassembled and cleaned.

There are many small parts and intricacies that will render it totally useless if not done properly.

The hinge on the lid to my black oval crockpot broke off; the whole thing has been rendered basically useless


The lid hinge is only a convenience thing. Most crock pots don't have hinges. So, unless the hinge affects the functioning of the pot, It is really not rendered useless. If you don't want to buy a new one or can't find a replacement hinge then simply clean up the break so it doesn't interfere with place the cover on. Good luck

Optio S5I photo's outdoor are overexposed


Your lens shutter is not closing, causing the overexposure. Your lens will need to be replaced or rebuilt. Sorry.

LED screen not working


Could be the tube[backlight] has blown. Can you see any image on the screen if you angle it around to the light? Check the Manufacturers Web site- tech support If it is a young camera they may offer a refurb on in exchange if you are out of warranty
