Seagate 20GB SATA hard disk not detected

Hi Good day!! try to re-plug the sata cable and power adaptor of your hard disk and see if it is detected if not try to replace the sata cable. please reply if you have a question i will help you more.

Based on what I have read about the HPdc5100MT motherboard it only supports SATA hard disk. Not sure how you are able to use a 80GB IDE.

See configurations from HP at this website. All hard drives are mentioned as SATA.

Checked the Bios Setting and check whether the Hard drive is recognizing or not -
Check the Boot sequence
Check Boot from the CD Drive
Format the Hard drive

yes get another pc that has a hardisk. then make your disk slave and install it on that pc. you'll recover your data

you need bios update

download bios express installation file

install first any 40 or 80 gb ide harddisk install windows and run express installation file
your motherboard will update your bios

Make sure the power cable of SATA hard drive is properly plugged in or not.. It is possible.. Try with SATA 0..

when you reboot, go through F2..and see what's showing there first..

Check the position of the master/slave jumper on the drive.

Check the SATA/RAID controller setting. It could have been set to [Disabled] Refer to your user?s manual for a detailed description on how to enable the onboard SATA/RAID controller by adjusting the jumper or BIOS settings. Regards SparkGap
