We have this model and the filter is attached to the water line tubes on the outside of the machine. My husband layed ours ontop of the unit but it would depend on who installed it. If you can locate the outer tubes you should be able to find the filter.

The fridge does not seem to be cold.

if just the refrige isnt cold, check the damper door located between the freezer and refrige compartments and see if its open to let in cold air from freezer,if not sometimes they freeze shut and cant operate with temperature setting changes/if nothings cold, then replace the ptc overload relay located on the compressor body,it just unplugs off the compressor

Freezer frost buildup; fan constantly running; water filter

Just had mine repaired. Tech told me that the tempearature settings on the display panel are not EXACT science. The fridge is cooled by blowing air from the freezer to the fridge and when the sensor in fridge reached approx desired temperature, the damper is closed.

The noise you hear periodically (water dripping) is the heating rod melting the defroster (hence frost freeze), which unfortunately sometimes spills into the blower motor to fridge, causing frozen motor, causing the infamous ER FF error code and fridge failure.

I reluctantly had LG to do the energy saver fix (recall) and it replace everything that the internet users are complaining about.

How do i change lg fridge water filter

have just changed the filter on our lg fridge, it's not easy: the filter is external, at the back of the fridge. the fridge has to be pulled away from the wall and then the filter can be seen.

Filter status, display help

This is normal. The light is on only when it's time to change the filter. I guess you have already found the filter timer reset procedure in your owner's manual!

Enjoy your new fridge!
